Swan Point Yacht & Country Club
About
Situated along the shores of the Potomac River in southern Maryland, Swan Point Country Club has been ranked as one of the top 10 golf courses in the state. Golfers who enjoy playing in the Carolinas will feel right at home on this course. Water or marshland comes into play on 12 holes and there is an abundance of pine trees. The course is also home to a variety of wildlife including osprey, bald eagles, and deer. In addition to the water, strategically placed bunkers add another challenging element to the golf course. The par-5 fourth hole is considered the signature, mostly due to the challenging island green. Proper club selection is key in order to maneuver past the lake that runs along the entire left side of the fairway. The hole is especially hard on windy days.

Awesome greens
I’ve played golf over 40 years, and have been so many different courses surrounding Washington DC area.
I would give two thumbs up for maintaining superb green condition to Swan Point Yacht & Country Club..
I’ve had awesome day golfing this course, I’ll definitely come back more.
Best course in SOMD
Of all courses in Southern MD that are available to the general public, Swann Point stands out. Challenging for sure but i would rather that than too easy. A course you can play aot but doesnt get old.
Best value.
I just moved down here from NY and picked this course as my first to play . I now come once a week as the value and scenery is unmatched . A very difficult course the first time you play but fair as you get used to it.
Great Golf course
They have aerate the greens otherwise it would have been excellent all around!
Greens
A lot of greens did not have divots repaired , repaired a lot of divots along with mine. Poor green conditions.
Conditions
This was the best shape I’ve seen Swan Point in EVER
Great Golfing experience
I played here once before, and it’s a beautiful course, challenging, fun, nice carts, pro shop, and even the food is very good. The amenities make it a welcoming place to visit. It’s the nicest golf club in the area and a great value. I highly recommend.
Rude
I have been playing Swan Point for over 20 years. As long as it’s dry it’s a great course. My last round there however I returned to a cracked windshield. There are no errand ball signs. I provided my information and after 3 days I reached out to them. The administration office interrupted me and transferred call to general manager. The call cut off. Called again and general manager just said “And, we will not pay for it if that’s what your asking.” I don’t care to play this course ever again. Simply disrespectful and rude.
Good layout fast pace decent condition great value
Played on hot Wednesday afternoon, very fast pace. Greens in great shape, fairway a little too dry, bunkers in good shape, rough and tee boxes need some more overseeding. Friendly staff, course has ice water every few holes. Overall great value.
Going Downhill Unfortunately
I have played Swan Point for years and it appears to be resource strained. The Greenskeeper was in the process of rebuilding the traps on the side of the 10th green which is great but it was downhill from there. The carts were filthy (right out of the cart barn) with empty divot mix bottles on the cart. The fairways were abnormally dry and several greens were burned/patchy with disease.
Golf now rate is good but it does not include the cart. The cart was an extra $20.00 for a total of $45. Overall it still is a good deal but it is no longer the gem it used to be.
