Meh
Course was just ok. Greens were cut kinda high. Most of the fairways were simply low cut grass. Pro shop paired me up with someone with whom I shared a cart but still charged us both full cart fees. Sent us off the back nine. Pace of play was fine until we hit the front nine at which point numerous slow playing players were inserted into the mix.
It's Early
Greens were nice, although the front nine had been aerated and top-dressed. Fairways are still dormant, so a few more warm days are needed to bring them out. Bunkers are out of play (no rakes, we pulled bunkered shots out) but they looked great after they've been reworked. Always enjoyable to play Wicomico.
Golfball off fairway is very hard to find ,made play very slow Rough should be cut down a little especially the longer grass.Greens were semi good, except for #8.Fairways were NICE.
Nice Layout for the value
Course was beautiful views, greens were slow but we have had a lot of rain the past couple of days, took the kids and wife and enjoyed the round.
Good course, bad conditions
Looks like a lack of upkeep by the staff this year. Course value at $48 on a weekday is terrible. Worth it for the hot deal but no way I would pay normal price for these conditions. Been playing here for a little while now and won't be back until they clean it up. Horrible greens on almost every hole and blatant lack of grass cutting in many locations. Been a tough few weeks with the rain but no excuse as surrounding courses are in much better shape.
Late autumn friendly round
Played as a twosome and had the course pretty much to ourselves. Just out to test some irons. Course was set up with temporary fees and had recent paving of cart path and aeration ofgreens. Will be fine by spring. Good local course. Not a destination course by any means but quite comfortable, if that makes sense. .
Great course
I scored the 12pm tee time for 17 bucks. Cant beat that. The course was in great shape for being almost winter. Tee boxes were moved forward to help the normal tee boxes to regrow and fill out before spring. Windy conditions caused the course and greens to have alot of leaves on it but what can you expect when you play in 30mph winds. Overall a great day. Any day golfing is a better day than being at work.
Great Conditions
The last time I played things didn’t look great. But now what a big change fairways, greens, etc all in excellent shape for a very dry season. Will be back.
Thank you so much David. Hope to see you again soon!
fairways need work
The course layout is enjoyable, and you're treated to some scenic views of the Wicomico river. The greens were in good shape and the traps have mostly just been refilled with excellent sand. The problem is the condition of the fairways; they were simply not in good shape. Hopefully, as warm weather arrives management will work on making the fairways more conducive to a good round of golf.
First Golfnow.com Experience
This was the first time that I used Golfnow.com, it was simple and the price to play couldn't be beat. The $12.00 to play 18 with cart was great, the $3.49 fee was a little more than it should had been. We were able to play in 2.5 hours since no one else was on the course. The course had all tee boxes moved up for the winter, and there was a course rule to pull out of the bunkers due to the extreme wetness due to all of the rain that we have received this year. Other than that the experience was great.
Thanks Chris! Have a great Holiday Season!
