Eastmoreland Golf Course

Eastmoreland is a very difficult track. Tree lined tight fairways with tough greens. Always a great time but be prepared for a hit to your ego

The greens were sanded last week so putting sucked, but it is all good for what is to come. The ground has dried up pretty much, not much roll out and the greens were sanded and plugged. The fairways were is great condition especially the 16th. Looking forward to another great year.

They need to maintenance the course especially fair way of front nine.

Love the history of this course, but the city needs to put some money back into it. Needs French drains, sanding, rolling, and ponding diversion. Usually play this course in the warmer season and it plays better, but the pace of play make it unenjoyable to play. Haven’t had much rain in nearly a week and every ball plugged, lost three balls in the fairway they plugged so deep. Played was fourth person out behind two singles and a twosome and pace of play was still bad. Several times I sat and waited 5-10 mins in between shots. Probably the last time I play at eastmoreland.

The greens at 820 am had so much dew on them it was horrible putting. You should roll them or at least blow them off.

I like to play Eastmoreland a couple of times a year. It’s a beautiful old course and has some challenging holes. The course is in good shape and a terrific value.

Accuracy is a must to make it to the green in regulation. Depending on the green, they can be fast or slow making putting a challenge. Great course in good shape for this late in the season. Tee boxes could use some maintenance or moving, just saying!

I booked a round at Eastmoreland and was excited to revisit this beautiful course after not playing there for over 10 years. The staff was welcoming and amazing. The pro shop guys were friendly and the starter was great. My only issue was the course itself. The entire course seemed as if they left the sprinklers on for a week straight. The greens were saturated with water and I had multiple mud balls in the fairway. All of the fringes were damp and wet. We have been on a streak of hot, dry days here in Portland and I understand that keeping the course watered is important, but this was oversaturated. I hope to return under better conditions.

This golf course gets played so much everyday, year after year and yet it holds up. Most greens were in good shape, 18 being the best.

If we could only educate players to repair divots, how to drive golf carts and how the pace of play is supposed to help keep the pace of the game moving for all players.

Playing there again tomorrow if that tells you anything!

A golf course isn't the easiest thing to maintain, I understand that. But there's some things that as a player, you should not have to deal with. For example, hole 3 and hole 4 have dry, exposed dirt in both fairway and around the green, yet additionally on hole 4, there's patches of land that are spongy and soft, and in fact, most likely over watered. I don't want to worry about breaking my club after landing in the fairway. I don't want to prefer hitting into a bunker because the green side grass isn't consistent. That's not golf at that point. I can spend $5 less and play Glendoveer which tends to have less of these issues.

This course has shown improvements over the years and for as often as it passes hackers through the tunnel, it stays in great condition. Drying out on the edges of the fairway makes it more important to hit the fairways. Most greens were rolling nicely and it is just a great place to play. They have it all!
