Eastmoreland Golf Course
About
Eastmoreland Golf Course was laid out in 1917 by National Amateur Champion, H. Chandlar Egan. Today, Eastmoreland is ranked by Golf Digest among the top public courses in the country. Eastmoreland is as beautiful as it is challenging, bordered in part by Portland’s Rhododendron Gardens and Crystal Springs Lake. The environment provides a home for thousands of birds including great blue herons, mallards, wood ducks and more. The tree-lined fairways are beautiful year round and the natural hazards such as ravines, streams and lakes require the best from any golfer.

Course in great shape!
I love Eastmoreland, great, fun layout that is challenging but not unfair. Course was in great shape, greens rolling nicely and fairways lush. Good time to play!
Big disappointment from years ago
I used to play this course in High School 48 years ago. It was well maintained back then. I live in Bend now and wanted to reminisce so I played last week. Tee boxes were in bad shape. Mowing was happening right next to us early in morning on 1st nine. Grass would stick to ball each shot and it was hard to find balls covered in long grass clippings. Clover was also prevalent and blackberries on 1st nine by tracks. Had to use colored balls just to find. Bath room on 1st floor needs upgrade also. Not the same course I remember from 48 years ago.
So close to great
Most of the course is in great condition right now. This is my normal/regular course to play in the spring/summer/fall.
The tee boxes of several holes were BEAT UP. So bad you couldn't get good footing. Bunkers and bunker rakes are also a joke.
And there is still a shortage of signage on many holes (especially between 13-14) that hinders new players.
Would also like to see pace of play held up with more marshals.
Fun course!
The course is laid out perfectly! The holes were fun and challenging! The design kept me guessing and excited to see what my next shot would be! It would have been nice to have a food cart, but there was a person providing water, so that was good, it was a nice hot day.
Get out there now!
The grass is green and mowed on the fairways. The greens are still a bit bumpy but improving. The trees are in bloom and it’s finally getting to feel like spring time. There is actually a bit of roll out on the fairways
, so low scores are waiting.
Great course!
I love this course! Great course layout and it’s usually in awesome shape. Impossible to beat price wise when you go through golf now.
Great course
It is a great course, hard but very playable. It makes new players think about course management and how to set up for the next shot. The only thing that I ran into was, as a new player and first time playing, the pro shop workers were unhelpful and I did mention it was my first time there. They did not tell me about having to drive on the sidewalk of a street to get to the next hole. I sat there perplexed for a second before full sending it. Everything worked out and I would golf here again and recommend.
nice course, disappointing facilities
The owner needs to change ONLINE information, the restaurant and menu is NOT as described. The menu is totally different and it's not full service, take out only. The poor guy that mans the takeout window is overworked and overwhelmed. He has to handle huge orders all by himself. But he is friendly and when the sandwiches arrive they are well prepared. But it took a half hour to receive the order.
Fairways need a mow
Greens and tee boxes were in really good shape given all the rain. The fairways were long and not in great shape.
Favorite Muni
Friendliest staff, beautiful views, challenging and rewarding, always maintained. Love playing early mornings here
Poorly maintained
This course is a nice length and is pretty difficult, but is poorly maintained. I wish that they did a little more work on it, but the greens are patchy, fringes are hard and have tons of gaps with no grass, and there are mud pits throughout where sprinklers are broken. I though when I came 2 months ago that it was just a bad day/time, but it’s still the same.
Fun Course
Enjoyed playing this course but having some local knowledge is pretty important on the back 9!
