Eastmoreland Golf Course
About
Eastmoreland Golf Course was laid out in 1917 by National Amateur Champion, H. Chandlar Egan. Today, Eastmoreland is ranked by Golf Digest among the top public courses in the country. Eastmoreland is as beautiful as it is challenging, bordered in part by Portland’s Rhododendron Gardens and Crystal Springs Lake. The environment provides a home for thousands of birds including great blue herons, mallards, wood ducks and more. The tree-lined fairways are beautiful year round and the natural hazards such as ravines, streams and lakes require the best from any golfer.

Green Lush Summer Course
Tee boxes, fairways and greens all green and in great shape for August. No brown grass except under trees. Greens smooth and good rolls. Great bargain expecially early bird.
Golfing with some friends.
Best condition this course has ever been in. Nobody to rush my group which is always nice.
Don't buy Hot Deal for this course.
Both times I got a hot deal for Eastmoreland we were playing behind tournaments. The pace was so slow both times. This last time we left after 13. They rarely offer hot deals here. If they do it's for good reason. You won't have much fun.
Not worth the price
For the price, you can do better. It was relatively expensive for a flat course without many features. Fairways are narrow, but not much deep stuff so it's easy to find your ball if it ends up in the rough.
Great Time
Enjoyed the course, friendly people and challenging layout
Legendary PDX Public Course
Have played at Eastmoreland 5-6 times this spring and have really grown fond of the track. Tight enough to keep you honest, straightforward enough to reward decent shotmaking. Course is in great condition and kept to an overall level that exceeds other public courses in the Portland area.
Good Day
I've played Eastmoreland many times over the years but this is the first time in the past 5 years. I liked the fact that much of the brush/weeds that used to be prevalent is now gone. There were some great apparel sales in the pro-shop and the putting/chipping greens are in great shape.
Greens were firm for March
Took advantage of a sunny March day. There weren't too many unattended pitch marks as it was before the weekend. Greens were rolling fast and crews were working hard tending to goose mishaps . There was very little wind so it was much easier to keep ball in play even with a rusty winter swing.
Value, beauty, and challenging.
The course was not in tip top shape, but it's February. A little soggy due to past rain. It is such a visual and challenging course, especially the back nine. Play was slow. A real value compared to other courses in the area.
Pushy Marshall on front 9
Ground was muddy due to recent rain, but the front 9 Marshall didn't take that into consideration as he told us we were taking too long to the point that he was downright rude about it. Even though he was long winded during the inconsiderate scolding. The guy is obviously retired but shouldn't be put in charge of anyone or anything. Back 9 marshal was friendly and had no qualms about him whatsoever.
great view & water hazards
We enjoyed great fall view around the course, several water hazards, especially 168 ft crossing pond in the 17th were very well designed and maintained.
Good Challenge From Back Tee's.
I've lived in Portland for many years and this course has gotten better each year. It's not long by any standard, but it has quite a few holes that will challenge your shot making skills. Plenty of doglegs and elevation changes make for a good test of golf, especially from the back tees. The greens are slopped, undulating, and varu greatly in size. Playing to the correct side of the greens is key to score well. The fairways aren't always perfect, especially in wet conditions but the greens were great and rolled very true. Overall I greatly enjoyed the round.
Excellent facility
We arrived early and the starter was very accommodating in getting is off early. Staff and other golfers all very polite!
The course is a little dry in places but this is to be expected after all the heat. Greens were fast and in good condition.
Ed
Course was in poor condition compared to past. Fairways were butchered, grass around the creeks was tall and unsightly and the goose droppings were a problem on the back nine.
6hr round
I know it was a holiday but it should never take six hours to play a round of golf. 10minute wait at least on each hole
Unprofessional pro shop
Playing under pouring rain. Water cover the greens can not walk on. Even the starter agreed about the condition. Call golfnow people and the pro shop person told it was sunny and playable. He was inside. How could he knows the condition outside?
Great Course in Portland
We had the 2nd tee time in the Morning at East Mooreland, originally we weren't paired up, but because the course had over booked we were paired up with another two some. The course itself was excellent, but I couldn't get over how busy the course was at daybreak. I still recommend the course, it is sweet, but there was a line at the 1st tee box before daybreak! Incredible traffic at the course, no wonder, its in excellent shape. Firm and fast greens, tight fairways and mature trees are the highlights of this course. They are all in great shape. If you spray your drives, you will probably not love this course, because the mature evergreen trees line every fairway.
A steal for $25
Played 7:30 am. Course in good shape, very few geese, even less goose feces. Greens very deceptive. Range is typical, service okay. The pins were very challenging the day we played. A few high risk/high reward shots, but pretty straightforward otherwise. A decent challenge but you need to hit the fairways.
Twilight special
Played the course at 6PM and almost got in all 18 before dark - had to skip two holes
At night the pace of play is great.
I plan to play again at twilight.
Fairways deteriorated significantly
Would like to see an improvement in watering and taking care of the grass in the fairways. Many bare and/or dry spots. Understand it's a public course but .....
Pace of play was surprisingly good for a Saturday afternoon.
