About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

Ranger would be good
It would have been helpful if there was a Ranger on course to ensure pace of play and golf etiquette were being upheld. There were several occasions where there was 2 or 3 groups waiting on the tee boxes and open holes ahead due to slow play and a lack of golf etiquette.
Beautifully manicured course
It’s a very well maintained course with reasonably fast greens. The fairways are wide and forgiving. However the grass on the fairways was a bit long on the day we played making clean shots challenging. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very enjoyable course and will definitely play again.

Very nice course 25 minutes from Gettysburg PA
Greens were very good; fairways and bunkers good, tees a tad sparse and rough poor. A nice layout and a very good value. We would return again.

Poor pace of play
Have played this course multiple times and the pace of play is not regulated.
Nice course - great for the price.
Fun layout, nice greens and fairways; bunkers okay, tees average, rough below par.

Aggressive groundskeeper
Played a round today. Was having a wonderful time until the 11th hole where I was yelled at by a person mowing the grass telling me I wasn't allowed to drive In the rough. Driving from the fairway on a par 5 to the cart path I think I'm allowed to drive on the rough but okay tried to apologize at the 12th just to be swore at and threatened to be kicked out. It's unfortunate I play here every single week and may change my mind in the future due to a groundskeeper being rude and disrespectful to me and my guest
Management has resolved the issue nicely

This is a very friendly facility. Nice layout, great value for the money. Only negative, stuck behind a very slow playing group.

Glade Valley GC- a pleasant experience
Glade Valley remains in good shape despite the drought of 2023. Greens are smooth and fairways are lush. There are a number of bunkers and trees being removed which will transform the look and feel of the course, however it will remain an excellent walking course.

Nice course overall
We had a good day. Met up with 2 others for a foursome. It was hot but the couse was in very nice condition even in this exstream drought.
