About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

Ok for the money
This course is fine if you are just getting started with golf. It’s where all the newbies play. Gets pretty backed up on the weekends because it is cheaper than a lot of th other courses around. It does have grass tees that they keep maintained so that is nice to practice of of actual grass.

Geat Day of Golf
Excellent course for learning the game. The staff was very accommodating—especially MIKE, who made us feel comfortable and provided great tips to help us complete the round.

Great Greens
The start of the round was a bit slow but gradually opened up bc the crew was out asking golfers to pick up the pace. The course is in the best shape I have seen. Challenging but not too tough. Great new carts and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Open but challenging course
Unless you are spending $100+ for a round of golf, you’ll never get nearly “perfect” overall course conditions. Glade Valley is a beautiful course with great greens, fairways and rough. The sand traps need attention to make them playable like a sand trap; they are playable as a chip/lob shot but few were good enough for a sand blast. But I went in only one: observed from the others in my foursome the issues.
The club house staff and grill were friendly and very nice. Made you feel at home. Carts are brand new and wonderful.
I play weekdays so I can’t speak for weekend pace of play, but Friday was a great round of golf with a nice 3some I got paired with.
