About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

Course Needed to be Mowed
I've played Glade Valley many times. This was the worst condition I've ever experienced. None of the fairways or tee boxes had been mowed in some time. I know we got a lot of rain last week, but most of the tee boxes were so dried out you could barely get a tee in the ground.

Fairways as long as rough today
My 5th time playing the course , but today was by far the worst I’ve seen it in. Fairway to 1st cut difference was indistinguishable. Hard to score a good round when you never leave the rough.
Always a fun / cost effective course to play, but just not in the shape it could have been.

Glade Valley
Expected better conditions after having had so much rain in the last few months. Fairways had brown and bare spots in some places and thick grass in others. Many greens had weeds growing all around the edges.

Very solid overall!
Solid course overall! Good value for the money. Moved quickly and the greens were in pretty good shape overall. Rough was pretty gnarly in some spots but that doesn’t matter if you keep the ball on the fairway.

Birthday round
drove 1 1/2 hours to play this course with two good friends....little disappointed with the condition of the course...traps where dirt filled and to much chickweed all over the course and greens....

Course is in very good shape. I liked it a lot. Was my first time playing it and played with 3 regulars who were awesome to play with.
A few greens were bumpy, but the rest were fine. I enjoyed it

Don't bother
Greens are in horrible condition. No fringe cut around the greens as well. Fairways in poor condition. Who is maintaining this course? I won't go back anytime soon!

Good layout/poor shape
Nice lay out but the course is burnt to a crisp. Bunkers are hard pan as well. A lot of areas with no grass at all

Good course for a casual round.
We play here every month or so. Staff is always very friendly and rates are reasonable. Course has several interesting/challenging holes but otherwise pretty standard. Bathrooms and snack bar are poor.
