About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

Beautiful course
We enjoyed this challenging course! For a round in March, the course was in great shape. We’ll be back soon!
Glade Valley - Sunflower Seed Shells
The course was in good shape considering that winter is officially changing to spring. The greens were a little rough as they were just aerated and sanded them. There was very little rough as the grass is just beginning to grow, which is good for me. There was ¾ inches of rain overnight so it was cart path only which slowed the play.
The biggest problem was some jerk decided it is okay to spit their sunflower seed shells all over the greens. Especially with the coronavirus, flu and cold season; I don’t need their germs. Please have some common courtesy and use your common sense.

First round in 2020
Mid-March and course not yet operating at full capacity. 1st impression upon entering clubhouse was how clean it smelled. Staff told us they were concentrating on that given current CV concerns.
Course recently plugged and overseeded so it was cart path only. NP as it was not busy Several areas were GUR.
Friendly staff, all electric carts, and even in early season was able to get beverages and dogs at the turn.
Played here many times over the past 3 years and recommend it for a fun outing.

Fun course, relatively easy, made it through Winter OK.
Glade Valley is an unpretentious course, with simple amenities (food service resumes next week), friendly staff and a course that is ready for spring. Greens in pretty good shape, fairways aerated this week and roughs cut very low. The price was right and we got a rum and coke at the turn.

Good value for your money
Enjoyed a great day on the links. The weather was great. Pace of play today was slow. Every body and their brother must have been playing. People took advantage of the 70 degree weather. I just enjoyed being outside with the summer like weather. Glade is a good course to play.

Just Ok
I have always loved glade valley. The course is very fun and easy with a few challenging holes. I have noticed the last few times playing that there just isn’t enough effort being put into maintaining the whole place. There is usually only 1 person running both the front desk and the kitchen so you have to wait. She is usually overworked and clearly flustered. (Not to her fault) the bunkers are never raked or filled with new sand. This course could be beautiful with a bit more staff and cleaning up.

Greens were in very good condition for March 4. Fairways were wet but got decent lies.

Nice course, great value!
The course was in good shape for January golf in Maryland. Easy to walk, fairly challenging with small greens and random water Hazzard that you cannot see from the tee.
