Glade Valley Golf Club

I've played here for many years, the condition used to be excellent, not anymore. The fairways have many bare spots and it's hard to get a good lie. The greens aren't as bad , but they used to be excellent. Hopefully they get things in better shape, this was one of my favorite places to play.

Recently aerated and grounds need some work but expect the course to get better. Should be in better shape in 3 or 4 weeks. Enjoyed the day and golfed here before so wasn’t expecting much this early in the season.

This is my favorite course in the area. It’s wonderful value for money and in a great, quiet location. People working there are friendly and the greeter at hole 1 was fantastic! The only problem is that on this day, there seemed to be far, far too many people and groups let loose on the course. I heard grumblings from at least 2 other groups in my 5+ hours here about the speed and its overall effect on gameplay. Because of the great value, this course is inviting to all levels of players, but with so many different levels of players on the course at once (and so many people allowed to come onto the course period), nobody was able to play through and there was constant pressure, whether you were too slow OR too quick. I do love the course, I really do, and I will go back...but it won’t be on a weekend. I just feel like the course could benefit from better reservation management and better controls of the amount of people on the course. It was like a small city was let loose on the course on this day.

The staff is very friendly. The greens had been aerated., which made putting difficult. Otherwise the course was in good shape for this time of the year. Glade is a good value for your money.

Good golf course, some challenging fairways with water and trees and others with wide open spaces. I enjoyed the course, is fun when you keep moving without slow people in front of you. Today, we had good pace without much waiting and I loved it. Highly recommend to my friends and family.

I was not given any notification that the front nine was closed due to aeration and that I would have to play the back nine twice. The back nine had been recently aerated and the greens had not healed. Everyone should be told about the aeration and the cost should be heavily discounted if one chooses to play there.

Temps in the 70s on a March day. Grass still dormant; greens have ball marks and sand traps are packed down (rakes were not provided). No drinking water or beverage cart. Still was a pleasant day to be on the course, even though it is not quite ready for the season. Low Golfnow rate reflected conditions.

Course conditions were poor but considering he weather we’ve had there isn’t much the grounds crew can do. The staff here is usually nice and helpful but today the women behind the counter was pretty rude. I like the layout but they stack tee times so close together and don’t have a Marshall so it gets jammed all the time. It’s march so the rates on GolfNow were $20 for 18 to ride so I can’t complain. I typically avoid this course once the season hits due to the course being over booked and they charge way too much.

I think our over abundance of rain probably adversely affected the fairway at Glade Valley. The greens were exceptional and very fast. Some of the pin placements on sides of hills were ridiculous. In spite of that, lots of fun for us old guys who get a significant advantage on most tees. A few narrow tee shots add to the challenges from the sloping greens. Greens were very fast and unusually hard to read. Didn’t get any better as our round progressed.

It was late October and most courses have not recovered from a brutally hot summer, But Glade Valley was actually very playable. The greens were very good, fairways, fair.

Not the perfect weather to be out there but the course was in good shape(cart path only)and we were the only ones out there. Finished 18 holes in 3 hours & 20 minutes.

It was a cloudy cool day. The course was in good shape. This was a good value for the money. As usual the staff is always friendly. It was a good outing.

Staff repeatedly friendly. Greens in great shape. Reseeding was plentiful. Keep up the good work. We had a relaxing time.

With the changing fall weather the course was still in good shape. There was the normal bare spots and most of the leaves were cleared from the greens as well as most of the fairways.
