Glade Valley Golf Club
About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

Greens were in nice shspe
For the cost. this is a nice golf course. Pace of play was rather though.
Little wet but perfect for December golf
How can you be mad for the price and weather in the 60s in December. Some nice long holes and few tough greens. Will definitely play in spring
Great course
Great course they a great job keeping the course in good condition
They had moved the tee boxes to temporary positions in order for the regular positions to be restored
Greens were in good condition
They did a Great job keeping the leaves and sticks cleared from the greens, fairways and even most of the rough
Ever Improving
This course continues to make changes for the better. Maintenance continues to work on the course as ownership wants to improve on everything.
Sunday Afternoon 🤬
Very strict rules on bringing beverages to the course. Beware. Starter will check your cooler. Next strict rule. Carts have to be returned by 5pm. They did extend it to 520 but you’ll never get a 4 hr round in at this course. Took 3 hrs to play 12 holes. Waited on every tee box, waited in every fairway. Finally gave up on hole 12.
Overall, despite all the rules the staff was pleasant, course was in great shape for November Not a difficult course. Just make sure you tee off in the morning if you want to play 18.
Good Course, But Slow
The course is fun and it has a decent layout of short and long holes with a few bends. There is not a lot of danger, so you don't have to worry about that. My main issue with the course is with the pace of play and their 6pm return the cart rule. I appreciate, just like everyone else, the ability to tee off with just your buddy. But when the course is playing slow - they need to enforce pairing twosomes with other twosomes and singles with other singles or pairs. It will greatly improve the pace of play. Finally, returning the carts by 6pm is ridiculous. Maybe it's just me, but I have not played any other course that requires it before sunset. I know employees want to get home, but I pay for the cart for 18 holes. Discount the rate of the cart if you want me to bring it back when I am on the 15th hole. One other thing quickly: I rated the value for money 2 stars. If you don't get this as a Hot Deal on golfnow, it's not worth the price. Same with a lot of the other courses around here. I don't know if it's inflation, the new GPS systems on the carts or what, but their prices are getting way too much for the overall conditions of the course (fairways, greens, bunkers, pace of play, carts, etc.).
