Glade Valley Golf Club
About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

Golfer Reviews
Tricky greens!!
I really enjoyed this course. Greens were the most difficult part. Overall good condition will be returning
Fun round
The course is in decent shape. It looks like there is a fair amount of work being done throughout the course. The greens were quite fast and they were in good condition. The only problem that I had, and I didn't realize it until we had left, was that they charged my partner for the round when it was already prepaid.
Under new management!
GVGC is in the best shape of the last 30 years! The greens are world class speed and smooth! Greens are firm. Course is firm! This course has moved to be the best course north of i70 in the Frederick area! Great job to the superintendent! Definitely recommend this course.
It is not the same glade valley from years ago! Give it another chance and you won’t be disappointed!!!
Please fix your ball marks! The course staff has worked very hard to improve the place. Do your part in fixing ball marks!
Back again
Second time playing the course. Enjoyed it just as much this time. Reasonable greens fee and course in nice condition.
Not Worth Being Here Today
Overbooked, combined with a snails pace makes for a miserable day out. Add branch debris all over the place, and way, way too many walkers, it just isn't fun. It's been awhile since I've been here and had been in a spring league before, and I do remember now why I stopped coming. The greens are the issue. They are all terrible in terms of pin placement and not one is consistent with another. Add way too much spring sanding and it's impossible to read them. They are too hard for this course to begin with and most with ridiculously varying slopes, but yesterday was just awful. Picked the wrong course today. Usually play somewhere every other week...so the selections gave only weekly or monthly with no inbetween number of times played.
Greens were in nice shspe
For the cost. this is a nice golf course. Pace of play was rather though.
