About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

This course has beautiful layouts.
When I play on the course I feel at peace.
Also I was happy and joyable.
Fun course
The greens were a little rough because people don't fix their ball marks. Overall the course was in pretty good shape. Cost for playing was very reasonable.

The course was in pretty good shape. The greens had too many ball marks that weren't repaired, but that seems to be fairly common these days. Fairways were in good shape.
Great Conditions and Course. But SLOW and Got Scammed Out of Paying Extra for a Cart
I thought I'd scored a great deal with a Friday golf tee time for just $38. But, as I soon discovered, that affordable rate came with a catch. Since I was playing alone, I was forced to either share a cart with a stranger or pony up an additional $25 - effectively doubling the cost of my round. What initially seemed like a budget-friendly outing quickly turned into a pricey afternoon on the course, made even more frustrating by the slow pace of play that saw me finish at 4PM, five hours after I teed off at 11am.
Good condition
The course was in very good condition overall the tees, greens and fairways were pretty consistent and in pretty good shape. there was quite a bit of goose grass here and there, but it didn't cause too many problems. The cart paths can be a little bumpy with roots lifting up the asphalt but I have seen worse.
Greens
Need a marshal on this course. Greens are peppered with divots. It seems to be getting worse on most courses. Need more reminder signs around the greens and told at check in to make repairs. A foursome should not have to repair 10- 15 divots on every green ( 3 -4 each) and many more in need of repair. Please keep this place nice.
