Green fairways
Even in the rain this course was beautiful. Fast play
two thumbs up
Chicopee is one of nicest public courses in the area. Which is nice because its one of few with tee time which allows us to use rewards. Sand is nice to play from. Some dirt patches even in fairways. Rough is friendly for the most part. Greens are a fair challenge but stay below hole on 12 or your put will roll well past hole if you miss. Friendly staff from pro shop to restaurant/bar.
Great Muni
Had played more than 20 years ago, much has changed, due to lawsuit had to change a par 4 down to 3. One of the best munis in Western Mass. Only problem occurred on back 9 when group was ignoring all pace of play rules, which forced the 3 groups in front of us to skip a hole to get in front. Saw player assistant on 2nd hole, never saw again all afternoon. Spoke with beverage cart young lady explaining the problem, to pass to pro shop or ranger,
but nothing done. Would highly recommend this course, though.
Good course to play.
Course is in good shape, greens are nice. They have made some improvements, it keeps getting better.
Bunkers
Even though there was heavy rain the night before the bunkers always have a lot of stones.
First time playing here, course well maintained with Beautiful scenery. Friendly staff at the shop and 19th, had cheese steak wrap which i’d Recommend
Great course, does not disappoint.
Course is in great shape, always fun to play.
Front nine was pretty slow, lots of waiting, the back moved better, could use a ranger to move people along.
Great day at Chicopee
Very hot day compared to past weather this season. Slow front 9, but pickedup in the back. Course is in very good shape, they have removed trees and improved the course from last year in my opinion. Play it.
Course is good
Good weather, conditions, fun course to play.
A little slow for this day, a ranger to move people along would help.
Great day at Chicopee
Good conditions, great weather, excellent pace makes for a great outing.
Course is in good shape, some maintenance going on, sanding on a couple of holes. They have made improvements to this course, removed some trees, greens are in good shape (little slow).
Good time to play this course.
Great Value Course
Even with all the rain in Western Mass this course remains relatively dry, due it’s superior drainage.
IGM continues to make improvements and keeps the greens / fairways in fine shape. Unfortunately, there is no ranger patrolling and “coaching” some slow players along. That would help, since Wednesday was a nice weather day, with a larger than usual amount of players. The round took 4.5 hours, which is about 1 hour longer than usual. We stopped into the bar for a beer and was treated by a friendly female bartender. Although some of the high end micro brews were priced a bit on the high side ($9 a pint), the bar area is clean with a comfortable atmosphere. Weather permitting, you can enjoy a fairly large deck overlooking the 9th green. I have been playing Chicopee CC for decades and always enjoy a fun and moderately challenging round at this course. I hope it doesn’t get too popular with people out of the Western Mass area. Too much popularity means crowded and higher priced play.
Great course
Overall I would give this course a 8 out of 10. A worthwhile play if in the area.
It's getting better
The course is coming around nicely from the winter. Fairways are good and getting better, greens are bumpy from the aeration, a couple of rough patches, could use some rolling and cutting, a little slow for my taste.
Overall it is getting better and with warmer weather it should be in fine shape.
