Hole 1: Par-4, 387. Good looking hole, distinguished by its gently bending fairway and big greenside bunker (hidden from view here). Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/25/2021

The sixth. Number 1 index. Why so hard? The brook forces most to hit 3-wood from the tee, and it’s 575 yards long. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/25/2021

Solid Oak
Since I started playing a few yrs. ago, I have probably played my most rds at Oak Ridge. The good conditions at O R have been consistently solid every time. The value for golf dollar is exceptional. The fun layout can be inspiring to beginners and bring despair to the overconfident & intermediate. Nice conditions when hitting the fairways and greens , however if you miss under the tree canopy you can find some, rooty, knobby and cart path area lies. The friendly staff has always been welcoming at this seasoned, formal country club. A must play for the avid golfer.
Great Course
Very good weather and conditions for a mid November Day. Interesting layout with a few holes that really make you think. This course would be a monster from the back Tees, but was very playable but not too easy from the Whites. Some of the Tee boxes were really beat up. The greens were fast and had a lot of break that I thought was tough to read. Sand in the carts would be nice as there were quite a few unfilled divots on the fairways and as always people need to fix their ball marks. But I will absolutely be back. I didn't get a chance to eat or visit the 19th hole as this was a Monday in November and I'm pretty sure they were closed.
Gem in Western MA
This is a very challenging course for short hitters. It was in great shape, with moderately fast greens that required careful reading. There were a number of forced carries, that for me required a layup. I will play this course again, but will use the green tees.
Cutters slowed pace
Their was some slow play that was exasperated by members cutting ahead and further slowing pace
Aerated greens
The course was aerating the greens which was not indicated on golf now web site.
Made putting difficult, contacted golf now and adjustment was made.
.
Course layout has some difficult holes, the course was in good condition overall.
Massachusetts Gem
The course was in great condition despite the drought conditions. Very tough rough to get out of perhaps because of the dry weather. A lot of water makes the course a shot makers dream. Deceivingly fast greens and overall good conditions.
Great Value
Course is in good shape. Was playing with my son (only 2nd round) and the pace and conditions were great. Would pay it again for sure. Greens did exactly what they were supposed to all day.
Just fabulous!!!!
Just a great challenging golf course. Perfect fairways and tees. The greens were perfect for playing in the afternoon. I will definitely be back again. Highly recommend this golf course to anyone.
Not for rookies
Pro Shop was on the dark side and not helpful. golfers pick up and drop off cart, of your choosing, in a semi-circle area near pro shop. Everyone of them had previous person's cups, wrappers, etc. to be cleaned by us before setting out. There are 2 types of score cards, one plain white w/ black print and another (that someone in the parking lot gave us) that was colored w map of course on back. It is a semi-private course so they might feel directions are not needed.
The course was very green and in good shape. At 1:00 PM the greens were fast. I'm a duffer and, on average, can only carry the ball 125 -150 yards from the fairway. The water on three or four were beyond my meager "skills." We hit up to the water, picked up and began again from the other side. But I'm sure to many it's just a nice little water hazard.
The lady's room / locker room was a C-. The two stalls are rusted, lighting was dim and was in SERIOUS need of refurbishing .
Enjoyable day on the links !
Pro shop very friendly. 19th hole very friendly. Pace of play was very good. Greens in good shape....fairways need some TLC, but very playable. Had an enjoyable day on the course and with some friends. Would like to go back one more time this year.
Unreasonable starter (pro ?)
This is a nice course that is playable and fun (usually). It is in good condition. It is a great deal if you get a Hot Deal.
However, our last visit was a lot less than pleasurable. We had a Hot Deal, and we checked in early to practice our chipping and putting. After a while we noticed that there was no one teeing off, nor was there anyone even arriving in the parking lot. We asked if we could tee-off. The starter (pro ?) said 'no'-- and made us wait almost an hour as the tee remained empty. I still don't understand. Sounded like he had a "beef" with GolfNow. If he does, he should call GolfNow-- and maybe get out of their program. Foolish customer service (there are a lot of other good courses in the area).
Fun challenging course
Wonderful gorgeous course set near the Berkshires. Most hopes you can get into trouble with a driver so it helps to talk with a local pro prior to going out. Several holes have water at the 230 to 260 yardage. Greens are relatively fast and course is well maintained.
Beautiful setting
Conveniently located, Oak Ridge is a must. Holes are varied and fairways in beautiful shape. An annual Safari Club outing that always pleases.
Challenging but fair. Fantastic course
Felt much more challenging than anywhere else in surrounding towns (Agawam, Southwick, Spfld). Some of the tee boxes need work, but fairways are gorgeous and greens are exceptional. Not as forgiving or wide open as other places- getting to the 150 yd marker was the real goal today with all of the trees. A handful of forced carries and doglegs will test your irons pretty good. Watch for elevation changes, too! Also, pay attention to cart path, as some of the holes are a bit of a drive to the next tee. Outstanding value and one of the best locations around. Worth it!
Good bang for your buck.
Played Oak Ridge last week for the first time in 10-15 years and I was pleasantly surprised. It was great value for what we paid ($25 with cart at 8am-wasn't even a hot deal). The course is in pretty decent shape for a public course that doesn't look to have a ton of cash to work with. The tee boxes were in good shape (aside from the par 3's...lots of sand thrown down on those), the fairways were very playable for playing the ball down...just a few areas here and there that I would consider GUR. Greens were in solid shape, weren't burnt out (it's been very hot with no rain around here), almost no ball marks. They rolled smooth, just not very difficult. The bunkers were probably the only less then stellar area on the course. Mostly dirt with some rocks/pebbles.
If you're looking for a place to play with your buddies to enjoy the course but have some fun for a good price, this is it. The only problem was no cart girl/snack shack...but we were also done by 1pm. However, you should bring plenty of water with you. We played on an extremely hot and humid day and there were only 2 water coolers on the whole course. On #8 and #16. At that point you're almost done with your 9/day and you could get something at the club house.
The layout is average-above average. Not very difficult at all. There are a few funky holes. #7 is a weird tee shot, #12 again is a goofy tee shot where you need to go left but your layup (it's a par 5) has to be up the right so you are not blocked out by trees on your 3rd. #15 is a silly hole. Dogleg right with a pond at the end of the dogleg. You don't want to hit any further than 185 from the whites or 210 from the tips. #18 is a real goofy finishing hole, If you want to hit your drive anything over 200 you have to fly the trees on your right and hope the ball doesn't bounce through the fairway into the trees.
Make sure you bring your GolfNow verification email, because the guy in the pro shop didn't believe we signed up for $25 with a cart at 8am. He said that was only for Hot Deals and those deals were only later in the morning/afternoon. He needed to see my email verification because he didn't believe me/the computer. Poor guy though...they had him washing the carts, setting up the carts, running the pro shop, etc. He needed some help.
Course is in great shape
We have a great round. Can't beat the value and conditions in the area.
Very Nice Course
This was my first time playing Oak Ridge. Beautiful course! A number of holes had water/pond/lowland carry. Would play this course again.
Great time enjoyed by the whole foursome
The white tees were forward which shortened thins up a bit. Standard MA type bunkers (equal parts dirt and fine sand) But overall nice course.
Excellent Greens
This course has a very interesting layout and the greens were in fantastic shape. The fairways were good, but the tees and traps needed improvement. The sand in the traps had a lot of stones and small rocks. The staff was out working on the traps while we played, so the traps should be in better shape as the season goes on. The tees were uneven in terms of grass.
It is a pretty course to play and I loved the greens.
