This course can test you
Excellent condition. Great staff. Great experience
Nice. Course
Easy walker.
Rough reasonable.
Good green speed. Always in excellent condition.
However I like to play about 6-6300 yards. Choices are 5400 then 6700 then over 7200.
Great round
Course is in excellent shape. Very friendly staff.
Straight forward golf course
Most holes go back and forth and are relatively straight. Fun track to play. Interesting with planes and choppers flying overhead. Nostalgic and patriotic course to play!
My favorite course
The course was in good shape although there was a fair amount of leaves on the front 9; back 9 was better with fewer leaves. Basically the fairways and greens were in good shape. Always enjoy playing here.
Interesting layout
Course was in great shape and well maintained.
Rough was long ( as usual ) and distance off the
tee is important. Only negative - traps could use
some more sand.
Great condition
Course is in the best condition I have seen it in for a while. Unfortunately played in the rain the whole way around. Fun and a great value all the way around. Best for long hitters (which I'm not).
Must play if in the area.
Played the course with the Safari Club on 9/7 of this year. In great shape, in all aspects (greens, fairways and T-boxes), as always like all the other times I've played. Staff is second to none.
Very Slow
Course was in decent shape given the drought. I managed to avoid the bunkers but the guy I was playing with said they were hard. It isn't much of a golf course except for its length my round took five and a half hours mid day mid week in late September. I think the length of the par 4s had a lot to do with it. Guys tee it forward if you need to. The group in front of me spent most of the day hitting their second shots 20 to 30 yards in front of the senior tees. M
In Excellent Shape
Been playing here for years. It's in the best shape I've seen it. Long, even from the whites and just a lot of fun. Greens were immaculate, quick, and sticky to a high shot. Always a starter there, and always a ranger, even during slow times. Show the greenskeeper some love and go play this course.
Excellent Condition
The course is in immaculate shape. Never seen it better
A Safari Club Favorite
One of the many Great tracks that we have in the Pioneer Valley! The Pro is very friendly and takes care to make sure your round there is very enjoyable. This is very long track that is well maintained. Come out and play it you'll love it!
Safari Club Outing
The course was in excellent condition for a very dry season. Now I know why they call it rough its about 3" deep. The greens are true. My suggestion is play to the hole don't play a brake unless you can definitely see one. This has been the norm for the past years. The food is very good. When we first got there they had dozens of free donuts and coffee. You don't see that at other courses. I play there many times a year and it is always in good shape. I know the greens keeper. I told him that the Safari Club was very happy with the conditions of the course.
Quality and Value
Westover is truly a golf course that exemplifies the fact that quality and value can go hand in hand, even in this day and age.
The staff is superb and the layout, although long if you choose to play from the tips, is fair and challenging.
It's difficult to believe they can keep this course as green and lush as they do, particularly on a drought year like the one we've been experiencing.
They handled our 100 plus member Safari Club outing like real pros and despite having that many folks playing the course over one shotgun start, we were all able to finish in just a bit over 4 hours.
Try Westover - you'll be glad you did.
SAFARI GOLF ASSOCIATION
On September 7th we played Westover Country Club
What great shape the entire course was in nothing burnt out here
The service in handling all 116 members from arriving to going home was great
What a great staff
Officer's club
I had the pleasure of playing one of the longer courses in my area with my friends in the safari club. The course was in marvelous shape as usual.
The only problem was that I am used to playing the back tees and for some reason it was suggested that our group play from the forward tees(to speed up play is my thought) and I was playing shots from places I have never played from before. Regardless, no excuses for my bad play, It was all me, not the course.
It is my understanding that the course was built for the brass at the adjacent Air Force base and then turned over to the city when the base became Air Force Reserve Base. It is a relatively long course, 6700 from the tips, but always well maintained and "ship shape" . The staff was friendly and willing to serve.
Great course
Played this today with the Safari Group and what a day!. The entire course was in great condition, as it has been all summer. Greens had been aerated a couple of weeks ago, but had grown back in nicely and were putting true. Pace of play was excellent. We had over 100 players on the course, and it only took a little over 4 hours. Pro Bill Kubinski made us all feel welcome. In the morning, there was complimentary coffee and donuts, and after golf, there were 3 bartenders in the bar area, and they fired up the outside grill for hot dogs and hamburgs. A great touch! Thanks to Bill and staff for a truly enjoyable day!
This course has some challenges
Considering the hot and dry conditions we have experienced this summer, the course was in great shape. Pace of play was a bit slow, but that could be attributed to the off/on rain showers.
Staff was very friendly and hooked up with a two-some on the 3rd hole and played the rest of the round with them. They are frequent players there.
