Best condition ever!
I've been playing Westover for years, and it's in the best condition I've ever seen. If you haven't been here, or maybe in awhile, give it a look. Still one of the best tracks in our area.
Course in great shape
Course is in real good shape. Plays long. The fairways and greens are in great condition. Friendly staff. Love this course
Westover great condition
Good course nice people.
Great condition
First time here in 3 years- happy to be back!
It's a beauty- and definitely longer than most places in the area, either from the white tees or blue. You really need to be super accurate here or pay the price in the trees. Greens were first class. Bunkers had great sand and fairways are lush. Others are right- it's mostly flat. Pace of play was slow for 8am-11 on a Saturday, which was disappointing.. Only a handful of forced carries or doglegs to contend with. And the layout and direction between holes is probably the most straight forward of any course in the area. Will definitely be back when my driving is better!
Awesome value and course
I've played here for years because I think it checks all the boxes. Fun course, great value, the course is in excellent shape, and the staff are great. If you haven't played here in a few years, I would strongly recommend trying it again, as the course conditions have come back strongly. The food is really good, too, and I've found everyone who works there to be very friendly and accomodating.

Flat and long..
Been playing here for years, great course, long, easy to walk 90% flat. Greens in great shape but could be a little faster.
Good Value!
I live in the area and I play all the public and semi-private courses within 20 miles of my home. I've never been disappointed with the conditions at this course. I play the White tee boxes which are 6614 yards but if you're up for the challenge, the Blues are 7005. The greens hold approach shots well and are not too fast. More importantly, they're consistent for all 18. Some of the bunkers could use more sand and others had some large stones that should be raked clean. The practice putting green is large and true to the greens on the course. They have a nice driving range but they never use the back portion of the teeing area. Not sure what they're saving it for. There's a good 40 yards of teeing area and if they staggered it starting from back to front, they could keep all areas maintained and growing new seed. Unfortunately they only use a small section of the front which gets beat beyond repair during the season. Aside from these few gripes, you will not be disappointed if you choose to play here.
Excellent golf
I play there 8-10 times a season. Love this place. Its kept in very good condition.
Westover
Great course... Always in good shape
Great Fall Golf
The course was in great shape after raining for 3 days.
There was some standing water. If you're playing the weekend, you'll enjoy your round.
Love this course
Nice long course in great shape. Nice big greens. There's nothing bad to say about Westover
Hi "lynnladder" Thanks so much for the Excellent review!! We are so pleased that you enjoyed the course conditions and your round today.
Westover
Course was in good shape considering the time of year. Lots of leaves on fairways and greens made it a 5 ball day however.
Hi "patto" Thank you for taking the time to review our course. Please come back and play us again in the Spring!
windy and walking
No cart rule for the day but it's an easy walking course. The course as its been all year is in great shape a few large puddles but there was a lot of rain wed. .the staff is always great very friendly from management to concession staff we always love playing Westover
Hi "parris49" Thanks for the great review, we apologize that the course was extremely wet on this particular day. Please come back and visit us again soon.
First time
Can't beat it for 30 bucks, few groups in front of us were snails and no one on the course was keeping track and some clowns jumped in front of us at the turn
Hi "u413464959 " Thank you for taking time to review our course. We really appreciate it. You really can't beat the value and price! We do apologize for the inconsiderate golfers on this particular day, we are glad it didn't get you down to much.
Excellent course!
There were 3 of us and it was our first time there for all of us. We were very impressed with the quality of the course especially for the money . The course is in great shape with the slight exception of the cart paths. No big deal really. The greens are in excellent shape and are challenging but fun!. We stopped after 9 and got lunch that was very tasty and a great deal. All the staff had great personalities . The only thing I wish they would do differently is place some water coolers around the course. There are literally none except for 1 randomly placed water bubbler. I will absolutely play this course again in the future!
HI "Jon2841167" thanks for the great review! Your recommendations will be taken into consideration thank you so much for making us aware of it. We can't wait to see you back on the course!!
No certificate
I was promised a $20 certificate because of a poor experience but have yet to receive anything.
Hi "vogelldl" Thank you for your review. We are unaware of a gift certificate that was suppose to be given out. Can you please email me directly at westovermunicipalteetimes@outlook.com so we can go over this situation. Thanks MGT
What happened?
This used to be one of my favorite course in Western Mass. Played it today for the first time in 4-5 years, and oh have things gone downhill. The course was simply in awful condition, everything to the tees to the fairways, to the bunkers and green. The rough was the only thing in good condition. The tee boxes were filled with crabgrass. Fairways were dead and not very plush. The greens were the worst I can ever remember putting on.They were aerated about 5 days ago, but that wasn't even the problem. You could see the greens were not in good shape even without the punches. The putting green was not aerated and the grass was easily 1/4 inch. Any putt outside 6-8 was a prayer depending on how the ball hopped. Nevermind being above the whole. I used to love this course because it's long (even from the whites if that's your tee of choice.), makes you hit a lot of different shots and use all the clubs in your bag. For a municipal course the greens were always in great shape. It was a good test for your golf game. Today was the first day in the long time I didn't have any fun playing golf. I could not wait to get off the course. And to make matters worse, we only saw the cart girl twice in 18 holes of play. If you're going play there make sure you play ahead and ask the pro or someone you know who plays the course to see if things have improved. I'd highly recommend going to Chicopee CC. Not far from Westover, another city-ran course, and the greens are in some of the bets shape in the state for a public or private course.
It's definitely worth playing if the course is in fair-good shape, but I wouldn't expect that to happen anytime this season. I know a lot of courses had a hard time recovering from a brutal winter, but this is beyond anything the winter did.
Hi "JackStraw15" Thank you for your honest review. The course right now is undergoing some significantly hot weather. We have had some crab grass pop up due to the increased humidity but not enough to effect play. We are taking necessary actions to resolve the maintenance situation. As for the beverage cart , for the amount of play that we have been enduring two visits on the course from our cart girl is very respectable. Especially when we have a full bar before, after, and in between nine's for you to access. We would love to reconcile the situation if you could please email me directly at westovermunicipalteetimes@outlook.com. Thanks MGT
Westover Golf Course
Great course for the money. Good length. Green speeds could be a little faster, but overall very nice and well worth the time.
Hi "u000006493094" Thanks for the great review! We are glad you enjoyed yourself at the course, don't forget to book your tee time for the PGA this weekend. Times are filling up fast!
Wonderful Westover
We had a beautiful day playing Westover. The course is in excellent condition and everyone there was super nice. We played a bit slow so we let a couple groups play through. The greens are in very good shape and run about medium speed. They aren't as fast as they look however. There are a lot of unrepaired ball marks on the greens. Too bad more people don't take the time to repair their marks.
There is almost no water in play on this course. Also the course is very flat compared to other courses around here which makes it an excellent choice for walking.
Westover is pretty long playing 6700 from the whites. Also interesting is that it is right next to Westover military airbase. Once in a while during playing you will see some awesome military aircraft coming in for a landing right over your head. It was fun for me and the kid in our group really was enjoying it!
Overall I would strongly recommend trying out Westover.
Hi "jacktheripperman" Thanks for the Excellent review, we are so glad your group enjoyed their rounds at Westover golf course! Westover is a very unique course being right next to the military base, we are glad you enjoyed it!
funtrack to play
Always like playing west over. It's moderately long, but with large greens and wide fairways. The had some winter greens damage, but they are coming along nicely. We went thru a foursome of seniors on the 7th tee and then played in 3 hours and 15 minutes. Got in just before the sky opened up. It's nice when a slow foursome lets you play thru. Wish the would have a GHIN system for entering scores.
Hi "modaddyretired" Thanks for the great review we are glad you enjoyed your speedy round with us. Don't forget to book your tee time for this weekend after the PGA , times are filling up fast!
