Westover Golf Club

No cart rule for the day but it's an easy walking course. The course as its been all year is in great shape a few large puddles but there was a lot of rain wed. .the staff is always great very friendly from management to concession staff we always love playing Westover

Can't beat it for 30 bucks, few groups in front of us were snails and no one on the course was keeping track and some clowns jumped in front of us at the turn

There were 3 of us and it was our first time there for all of us. We were very impressed with the quality of the course especially for the money . The course is in great shape with the slight exception of the cart paths. No big deal really. The greens are in excellent shape and are challenging but fun!. We stopped after 9 and got lunch that was very tasty and a great deal. All the staff had great personalities . The only thing I wish they would do differently is place some water coolers around the course. There are literally none except for 1 randomly placed water bubbler. I will absolutely play this course again in the future!

I was promised a $20 certificate because of a poor experience but have yet to receive anything.

This used to be one of my favorite course in Western Mass. Played it today for the first time in 4-5 years, and oh have things gone downhill. The course was simply in awful condition, everything to the tees to the fairways, to the bunkers and green. The rough was the only thing in good condition. The tee boxes were filled with crabgrass. Fairways were dead and not very plush. The greens were the worst I can ever remember putting on.They were aerated about 5 days ago, but that wasn't even the problem. You could see the greens were not in good shape even without the punches. The putting green was not aerated and the grass was easily 1/4 inch. Any putt outside 6-8 was a prayer depending on how the ball hopped. Nevermind being above the whole. I used to love this course because it's long (even from the whites if that's your tee of choice.), makes you hit a lot of different shots and use all the clubs in your bag. For a municipal course the greens were always in great shape. It was a good test for your golf game. Today was the first day in the long time I didn't have any fun playing golf. I could not wait to get off the course. And to make matters worse, we only saw the cart girl twice in 18 holes of play. If you're going play there make sure you play ahead and ask the pro or someone you know who plays the course to see if things have improved. I'd highly recommend going to Chicopee CC. Not far from Westover, another city-ran course, and the greens are in some of the bets shape in the state for a public or private course.

It's definitely worth playing if the course is in fair-good shape, but I wouldn't expect that to happen anytime this season. I know a lot of courses had a hard time recovering from a brutal winter, but this is beyond anything the winter did.

Great course for the money. Good length. Green speeds could be a little faster, but overall very nice and well worth the time.

We had a beautiful day playing Westover. The course is in excellent condition and everyone there was super nice. We played a bit slow so we let a couple groups play through. The greens are in very good shape and run about medium speed. They aren't as fast as they look however. There are a lot of unrepaired ball marks on the greens. Too bad more people don't take the time to repair their marks.

There is almost no water in play on this course. Also the course is very flat compared to other courses around here which makes it an excellent choice for walking.

Westover is pretty long playing 6700 from the whites. Also interesting is that it is right next to Westover military airbase. Once in a while during playing you will see some awesome military aircraft coming in for a landing right over your head. It was fun for me and the kid in our group really was enjoying it!

Overall I would strongly recommend trying out Westover.

Always like playing west over. It's moderately long, but with large greens and wide fairways. The had some winter greens damage, but they are coming along nicely. We went thru a foursome of seniors on the 7th tee and then played in 3 hours and 15 minutes. Got in just before the sky opened up. It's nice when a slow foursome lets you play thru. Wish the would have a GHIN system for entering scores.

Good value, good conditions would recommend. Too bad I'm terrible at golf!

excellent condition...fairways seemed narrower since last year...maybe there's a tournament coming up...greens smooth but not as fast as I like them...one of the best around especially for the money..always a fun day on a very challenging course

Westover has an outstanding layout with long challenging par fours, and par fives. Whites play to 6600 yards and blues 7000! For the modest price you get one challenging golf course. Nice routing and it is easy to walk. The reserve air force base nearby makes things interesting at times with huge military transports and fighters buzzing by at times. This place is a test. Greens are good and roll well. There are a few rough edges but they are few and far between. You cannot go wrong for the cost, pace of play and the professionalism of the staff.

Great course to get out and play. No thrill but very good quality. Greens are true and fairway great for the most part. good putting green to practice.

Course was in great condition, greens recovered nicely from the harsh winter. Plays long from White Tees, 6,600 yards.
First 3 holes require a fade from Tee with many more to follow.
Not a good layout if you draw your tee shots.
Last 2 finishing holes are dogleg right, demanding a fade.
Overall, course is well maintained and best $$$ value for weekend golf in Western Mass

The course is in good condition for this time of year. I was disappointed to find five temporary greens.
If I had known I would not have made the reservation.

This course has taken a huge winter hit from snow mold. Fairways are in rough shape, many greens need help. They have to spike, reseed, and take time to grow with the extent of damage. Fortunately they have an excellent greens keeper and in another 5 weeks it make be back to normal.

Beautiful day, course was in good shape....not very crowded.... We went on Mothers Day - which apparently was a great idea because the course wasn't crowded at all. Only reason not 5 stars, was food at the turn was just ok, and the beer cart girl left before we got to the back 9 (probably 1pm-ish) - but since it was so dead, it was understandable. Will play here again, one of the best courses in Western Mass and a great value.

Very disappointing. We paid the full rate for 18 with a cart. They were aerating the back 9 so we had to play the front twice. And three of those holes played to a " front " green because the regular greens were under repair. Fairways were patchy as well. Shouldn't have charged the full rate given the conditions.

Westover cc is a great course, for all around players

This course used to be over shadowed by Chicopee Country Club but over the years, Westover has become my favorite place to play. The course is always in perfect condition and the staff is always welcoming. The pricing is a steal, there's no better place to play.
