South Shore Country Club

Excellent municipal course with lots of character and history. Varied terrain with uphill, downhill and sidehill lies.

(Palmer and Played played here in the early 60"s).

A smile at the pro shop would have been nice but besides that super nice friendly starter. Not an easy course to walk but feasible. The course was in good shape, truly scenic with elevated tees which are a pleasure to play. So we had a blast this course was a very good surprise truly a good interesting challenging ciourse ... enjoy. Thank you for a great day

Very well conditioned course. Challenging and fair for all skill levels. Great classic style layout.

Paid for a round with a cart via GolfNow but the course couldn’t/wouldn’t adjust the rate accordingly even though they were not allowing carts out because it was wet. Course itself was nice, very hilly, tough for walking

Course was in excellent shape, I was pleased to not find any major under repair areas, and the greens were beautiful (not fast, but not slow either). The course seems to be on highland, so the wind was really strong and made it play much more difficult than it probably is in reality.

One major complaint, PACE OF PLAY. It took nearly 2.5 hours to play the front nine due to a slow foursome in front of us. There absolutely needs to be someone enforcing pace of play, because nobody wants to play a 5 hour round of golf.

Overall great course/conditions. Would love to come back and play when it's less windy (and pace of play was better).

I was charged $20 per person for the use of a golf cart when on golf now it was included in my price on a hot deal, very dissatisfied

Good value for the money. I play a lot of golf and enjoy South Shore Country Club the staff is very friendly and the course layout makes you use every club in the bag . I have played here for years, for early season , the course was in good shape the greens read true .Good test for any level player,All levels should try to play South Shore Country Club from the back tees where I play it is a challenging course

Fun and challenging course in excellent shape especially given the amount of rain we’ve had recently. There was little casual water on the course. Greens rolled true and quicker than most.

The enjoyment away

The pace of play on this course was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Waited for about 15-20 mins to tee off on each hole. Expect 5-6 hours for a round. After finishing 9 I mentioned the slow pace of play to the ranger and he didn’t seem to care. Barely even gave me a response. A few groups ahead of us there were groups taking 2 or 3 tee shots each on every single hole. Not something that should be happening on a busy course. I would not play here again simply because of the horrible pace of play and the staffs unwillingness to do anything about it.
