South Shore Country Club

I booked this course with Golfnow. Great value for the money. Greens were fast and rolling nice. fairways in great shape and the bunkers had plenty of sands. I enjoyed it so much I asked for a replay.

Despite 90 degree temps this course (with a cart) was fun to play. Plenty of cold drinking water available to keep you hydrated. 17 of the 18 greens were perfect. Fairways, tee boxes and cart paths all nicely maintained. Large greens with very few flat spots made placement of approach shots critical. Played in just under 4 hours with the back taking a bit longer. Course plays longer than yardage due to several uphill holes and elevated greens. Pro shop and starter were friendly and there were several rangers on the course but no issues. Playing here in early fall should be fantastic.

I can not speak highly enough of the club. Played here as part of a golfing holiday in Boston. Amazing value for money, staff were fantastic and the course was in excellent condition. Although not long the course is really interesting and offers a challenge to all places

Great condition, staff at times can be rude. Overall great place for the money. Several back ups due to people on greens not allowing second shot for fear of possibly hitting them, causes back ups on T's - did not see a ranger all day.

What a great day to play SSCC!! Weather perfect, tee boxes in great shape , greens nice and true, slow but true, fairways were green and lush!! Everyone friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our day here. 18 is a fantastic finishing hole into clubhouse. Can't wait to return!! Great job to everyone out at SSCC!!

im a 2-3 times a week player, wife played her first round. they allowed us to go out as two, respectful of pace of play. great day, great staff. this course is as hard as they come when wind is blowing, and it was.

Got here at here early on a Friday. Played with no one in front of us for cheap. 35 for 18 with a cart. We were told there was temp greens in a few spots. That wasn't a problem for us. The bad things were really rough roughs and a general lack of direction and signs. The course was a little confusing and there just needs to be more signs. The fairways and greens were in great shape but if you hit in the rough it was pretty impossible to find your ball at all even if the shot wasn't all that bad. Bring neon balls here.

One last issue was even though it didn't rain the course was really wet from dew. Probably not the courses fault but I wouldn't golf here early

The course was in great shape, for late especially. There are many hills with sloping fairways and greens. It help makes the game fun and/or mumble a few 4 letter words now and then. Try landing on back of the 18th green and the sinking a putt!
The staff are all friendly and pleasant to interact with. From the pro shop, to the starter and the groundskeepers.
Food and drinks at the restaurant are excellent and the view of the course from up high is quite enjoyable.

Pace fantastic, until the afternoon when we caught up to afternoon groups that went off the Back 9. Kudos to the grounds crew... On top of the leaves...thanked those we saw.

Hills galore. I would like another crack at this place as it takes some local knowledge. Overall very well designed to fool you into the wrong club selections with lots of blind shots and a few hidden bunkers.

Played this course many years ago when it was plush. Not nearly as pretty as it used to be. That said, the fairways were in good shape as were the greens. Lots of greens are elevated and require an extra club or two. Overall, an enjoyable round of golf with friends.

Ok, South Shore is a great golf course but it is extremely difficult. The holes are long and the greens are elevated that only adds to it's difficulty. Also the greens are way too fast for the average golfer. It would be far more enjoyable if three putting every green was taken out of the equation. If you are a single digit handicap then this is a great course. If you are anything above 12 or 13 then you are going to leave very tired and frustrated.

Though it was not my best day, the courses was a pleasure to play. The fairways were partially brown, but I support an environmentally responsible maintenance regimen. They allowed for longer rolls! The greens were in excellent shape, and rolled true. This is a course that will grow on you after several rounds. I'll be back.

Nice course. Pretty forgiving unless you really go left or right. Quite a few blind shots and elevated greens. Greens were in pretty good shape but a little inconsistent. Very hilly, walking would have been a lot on the legs.

course was in great shape and played well, felt a little rushed by group from behind, next time i will let them play through as to soak up the course a little more

Picked up tee time on golf.now. Excellent price. The starter suggested starting on the 10th. 3 hour round, no waiting! The greens are elevated, go up a club!
Nice day with friendly staff. Bring your bathing suit and swim for $7.

This is an excellent course that is a real challenge. The fairways are tight and in excellent condition. The rough is a little unforgiving and if they brought it down a little it might make the experience a little more enjoyable for the weekend golfer. Eighty per cent of the holes have elevated hidden greens with serious undulation which makes it even more difficult. The regulars here probably know the greens well but if you are a first time golfer here make sure to hedge you bets or you will lose..

Fun Layout with elevation changes on almost every hole & several blind shots. Very playable with ample room off the tee box or Irons to the 150's. Good condition with greens in very good shape. Bunkers need some sand. Course well marked with red/white stakes & yardages on sprinkler heads. Overall a very enjoyable course, will be back.

Close to Boston. Very Donald Ross-esque with small rounded greens and side hill lies.
