Great value and course
Great deal and very fast pace of play. Course was in pretty solid shape considering we have had some poor weather lately. Excellent challenging course.
Strong Golf Course
I have played Seggy many times. Par 4's are very challenging. Spring course conditions were excellent. Great value on GolfNow.
Great day
Three of us played and enjoyed the course. Pace of play was great and course was in good condition only to get better as warm weather comes on. Surprised at amount of water hazards but nit overwhelming. Looking forward to playing again.
Great course friendly staff, definitely will play again
Memberships are key, although guests are welcome.
Segregansett Country Club offers a variety of different decisions when it comes to how you want to play the course. By this I mean there are a variety of different tee options. Blue, White, Yellow, 7, Red. They also offer green tees, although they are not "real" tees they are they to help make the course shorter. Segreganett's PGA Professional, Rob Baxter, is very easy to work with. He schedules on your time & listens to every thing you have to say about your game and swing.
The course layout is fantastic. They are very few hills to climb up which makes it easy to walk, by this I mean carts are not needed here. It is a very challenging course when it comes to shot placement, shot shape and distance control.
The club offers an excellent driving range as well as a short game area. Inside the club house you have men and women's locker room & a small fitness area.
The restaurant is also very excellent with great food, atmosphere and, a very friendly staff.
Segregansett Country Club should be on your list of course you want to play.
Stay tuned for more reviews from myself.
what a great course - lot's of fun!
I had noticed this course during the summer when looking for specials....but the tee-times were hard to get........took a chance this past week and am I glad we did it! Fast greens......longish holes (6400 yds for white tees)........water.....has it all! And a nice little pub for the 19th hole.
Outstanding value
After hearing great things, I was able to try the course for myself. Greens are excellent. On a Friday, pace of play was outstanding, let a single through early, after that it seemed like we had the course to ourselves. The turn occurs after the eleventh hole, but no quick hot food is available, no dogs or burgers, all the food is cooked to order, but popcorn is free, the meals and specials are much better after the round. Would definitely return and recommend to others.
nice course
a few weeks after aeration so greens were a little bumpy and slow
Returning local
Excellent course, very tight and demanding
Three amigos and amiga
The 2nd time playing the course and it is in great condition considering the drought we are in.
the layout is estheticaly pleasing and very playable for both players and hackers. The food is also an extra.
Great cook.
Fair and challenging
Great layout with many fun holes. Some long par fours , good par 5's, a couple of longish par 3's.
Great small greens with good contours and generally well guarded; definitely need several rounds to get the hang of them. I look forward to playing here repeatedly.
Bad Experiene
We arrived at the course and was told in the pro shop that a small tournament had teed off a little while ago and the the round would be a bit slow. That was an understatement. After 4 hours we played 11 holes and we walked off the course. Nothing worse than a 6 hour pace. The guy in the pros shop blamed GolfNow for booking time right after the tournament teed off, but since this is a semi-private course I'm guessing the club should not have made the tee times available. A ranger also might have helped, but it was a painful round of golf.
The course is long and many holes have narrow landing areas. I would have liked the challenge, but you could never get into any rhythm and playing in back of a tournament with the guys drinking heavily made the round painfield. The fairways and greens were in great shape and the staff in the bar/resturant were very nice and sympathetic to our plight, but we had a horrible time at the course. We hoped it would get better after the turn, but it even go slower so we bailed.
Play your game
I play about a dozen times a year on regulation courses. I do not have the game I once had. That being said, I find Seggy to be as challenging as it gets. Check in was real easy, and the pro shop told me to grab a cart and go. One of my group had already gone...? Just go as a single...? Well, OK...Luckily I ran into the earlier tee time, a twosome, so I joined up with them. Great people, good time, weather perfect.
The course was in excellent shape. Good tee boxes, fast , tight fairways.By that I mean they are mowed real short (tight), so you really have to go down after it.
Greens were perfect. Fast, fair and cups cut in good spots. Rough is narly, particularly around greens.
TOUGH HOLES: A lot...!!! #2 handcuffs you into an iron off tee, then another over water, leaving a long approach on par 5. #4 make sure you play with someone who knows the course, as this hole is HARD. #8 is long and straight as are a lot of the par 4's. If you play a fade off the tee it will help on this course.
I like the course. Great condition , fair, but if you are looking to score, unless you are around a 10 handicapper, it will give you all you can handle. I shot in the 90's twice but left a lot of shots out there. Break 90 and feel good about it...!!!!
Fun
Course is in very good shape. Excellent value for the golf now price. No one in front or behind after two very nice couples let us play through. Even the bar manager kept her bar open for an after round cocktail when we were the only folks there. My buddy said his sandwich before the round was his ' best evah'
First time play
Course in great shape. Challenging layout with well kept greens. Will definitely return.
Has some odd holes in layout
Good challenging course in good shape
Although it does have a few holes that have
A strange layout
