Well maintained course.
Greens easy to stick, good speed. Fairways freshly cut. Rough was a good length.
Best course around for the price!
Living in the golf mecca of Northern Michigan (Bellaire)
It is difficult to find a course which is reasonably priced to play every week. Shanty Creek is too expensive for non-tourists much like other courses in the are.
The Centennial course is the best bang for the buck. The greens are immaculate thanks to a former shanty creek superintendent. The front nine (old second nine) is by far the best mixing both woods and openness. In my opinion the new second nine is just okay but still in great shape!
Anyone looking to enjoy great course conditions with immaculate greens should golf The Centennial.
Word for wise if thinking about hitting the range, avoid it. Half the buckets are lawnmower hit and chunked. Not worth the $8 for a small bucket to only hit half.
Nice spring golf
Course is in great shape. Greens, fairways and Tee's well maintained. Great place to tune up your golf!
No food..
My brother and I went May 4. Got to the turn around and went in to find some food. There was none... Not even a hot dog to be seen. Then when asking about chips it was 3.00 a bag. C'mon man this is ridiculous.
Great course
I have played this course for years, way back when it was Bellaire Centennial Farms Golf. It has been brought back from the dead and the course is now in great condition. I know, I am a member there and played there around 75 times this past summer.
The tee boxes, fairways and greens are well kept. Rough kept at an a fair height. Sand traps could use some work but also players don't generally all rake them after using them, Front nine mostly tree lined and the tighter of the 9, although I tend to score better on the front. I generally don't use a driver on the front nine until hole 7.
Back nine is a grip and rip it nine. Pace of play is generally great, and people let me play through as a single all the time.
Go play it - you will like it, The front desk staff and friendly and flexible, I love playing there and seeing how well the course now presents itself.
Awesome fall color
Course was in great shape. We will be back.
Hidden gem especially for fall colors
Previously "The Farm" course.
Beautiful course; exceptional views; fantastic greens. Haven't been here since 2007....better than memories.
Unfortunately unable to enjoy post-round lunch as only hotdogs and brats available at bar...restaurant closed until 4pm. ((Also, told last day for restaurant as unable to find workers (guess able-bodied workers waiting for more liberal democrat stimulus)).
Honestly, this course fabulous condition testimony to owners and grounds management and crews.
Will be back
Value Oriented Golf!
This course has it all but water hazards. It boasts tightly tree lined and narrow fairways, tall penile rough and very undulating terrain to place the course. Give it a try. It won't disappoint.
Some good. Some bad.
This is a tough review as I played this after Charlevoix CC & Schuss. This is not the quality of those two courses. The good. The course is kept up and very green. The greens are quick and putted true. Pace of play in the back nine was excellent. Gentleman in the pro shop very nice.
The bad. There was a group of six in front of our threesome. Six. And I believe that the pro shop knew this but did nothing about it. Totally ridiculous. Again, six. Luckily, they only played nine holes. A lot of grass clippings everywhere. Grass in fairways too long. The layout itself is not interesting and the location of the greens at times was just strange. The scorecard and the tee box yardages were totally different. The yellow tees were not even shown on the ancient scorecard. Lacking the trees found on most Michigan courses. I would tell you to try this course but don't have high expectations.
