Great course with hot deal
My wife and I wanted to go to Short's for lunch and found this course nearby on the way from Traverse City. Was $50 for the two of us to play 9 and we were happy with the overall course design, views and maintenance. The only thing I thought was weird was the greens had sand on them, but that could be a West Michigan challenge with soil.
Met expectations for value we got!
Very Much Improved Course
Played this course many years ago and I can tell you it's condition is very much improved. The fairways are good and the greens are a little slow but true. The front 9 is different than the back - on the back, you have to keep it between the trees and you'll do fine.
Pleasant Surprise!
We've played this course many times in the last 25 years. In recent years, with ownership changes, conditions had deteriorated and play was not a pleasant experience. With the new ownership, improvements have been dramatic compared to a couple of years ago. Greens are very nice. Fairways and rough watered and very playable. Compared to other courses in the area, for our game, it's a gem! Low handicappers may pass on it, but for the average golfer, it's plenty challenging. And, the food and beer at Gabby's (restaurant on the course) make for a great afterglow! The view from the deck is probably better than any course in the area. Thank you to the Blue Pelican family for rescuing and resurrecting this gem!
Very enjoyable course.
What a nice course. Very good condition. You can make it as hard as you want, just pick a different tee box.
Great course, great value!!!
I haven’t played this course in at least 30 years - it used to be called the Farm. It is a beautiful course!!! Green were in really good shape! For $26.00 for 18 as a hot deal on Golf Now, it was an incredible value!!! Worth every penny to beat my husband by 9 strokes. We will definitely play here again!!!
Great track
Friendly staff , nice course and it was wide open ! Recommend stopping to play here!
beautiful
this course is in great shape we will play again for sure
Great golf course
We have played this course for years— the last two years it was not in good condition— dry, poor watering, neglected greens etc.
The new owner has done amazing things for this course. The greens are 90%perfect ( just a couple still recovering from poor management, but so much better already)
He has cleared out the undergrowth. Widened the fairways, improved the greens , marked the course clearly— just so many 8mprovements!
It is a nice, friendly course with many challenges, but not too intimidating. Perfect for us “ non- professional, not long hitters” who love to golf.
Centennial Farms Bellaire Michigan
Course was Ion nice condition big improvement since I played a tear ago.
Beautiful, scenic course with lots of rolling hills. Fairways, greens and tees were in great shape. Rough was not as overly long as a previous reviewer described it, but it was thick (how can you tell a place not to grow their grass so thick?) and there were a couple areas where the clippings were left laying there, but not a big deal. Biggest complaint I have is the lack of yardage markers. Sprinkler heads not marked and even the basic 150 and 100 yard markers were hard to see sometimes. Overall, in an age of some overpriced golf, this is a great course for not a lot of $$$.
Appropriately priced
The course is not bad but in an area with a ton of great courses it’s tough to recommend this one. I give high marks for effort as there are multiple reviews citing how much it’s improved over the years. But for me...I can’t recommend it. The greens and bunkers are nice. The fairways are just short of ok. The big issue is the rough. It’s generally unplayable. Too many bare spots and grass clippings. The ride on the carts is bumpy as can be. It’s a nice layout with lots of potential. Nice enough driving range and putting green and is pleasant enough. But I wouldn’t pay over $25 to play it in its current state.
Value is unbeatable
New owners have done a great job cleaning up the course.
Great family course!!!
Price, Pace, People and Product well worth a round here.
