Great Value!
This course is the best value in lower Michigan. The course conditions are great. The staff is top notch. The pace of play was good. A fun course to play and it's only a 45 minute drive from Detroit. Highly recommend!!
Great course in great condition for fall golf
Course was in great shape, speedy greens, and fast play made for a great time.
Worth 6 stars
This is a municipal course. Feels like a resort track. Greens fine and lightning fast. Obvious that Chelsea invests in its golf. Clubhouse and concession areas first rate. Go out your way to play it. We did.
Women friendly cute course
A relatively short course with lots of hazards.
Course is in good condition, green is fast.
You can hit most of the par 3s with iron except for the 18th hole.
Paired With Other Golfers
Hi, I’m sure you all have a reason for the pairing. We were paired with 2 individuals who just hit the everywhere. We had to wait almost every hole for them to find there ball and it got worse once they started drinking. We played your course many times and was never paired.
I enjoy playing Pierce Lake and when I do play again I will respectfully decline pairing and if you insist I will respectfully advise them to play ahead.
Pace of play is an issue
3rd time playing this course this year. 2 of the rounds took 5 hours each. Staff seems oblivious to the slow pace. I complained after waiting on every tee shot on the front 9 and head person in the clubhouse expressed concern and some surprise. Back 9 pace did not improve much. The slow pace could be helped by a ranger on each 9 monitoring pace of each group.
Course is a pretty good layout. Condition of the course could be better. A number of very dry areas with dead or sparse grass and a couple of areas marked under repair which looked worse than they did a month ago.it is a good price value.
Beautiful course - fast greens
Nice layout, with beautiful, mature trees throughout. This course has the look and feel of golfing Up North. We played the front 9 holes and found some of the fairways a bit challenging, and the greens were fast.
Definitely would play Pierce Lake again.
Great condition, nice and helpful staff. Will play again.
Slow Play
I have played here for 18 yrs. The pace of play is really getting bad. They need Marshall's that are willing to push pace of play. Speeches from the starter on fixing ball marks and raking the sand traps would help. Who puts a group of 20 super seniors to play during prime hrs? They can barely walk much less hit the ball 100 yards. you do the math. SMFH.
Pace is slow
Pace is way too slow. 4.5 hours on a weekday is just plain way too long. No ranger present to keep play moving. Otherwise, reasonable cost and nice interesting course.
Beware of the greens
Caution beware of greens. Idk if they had a event of the weekend but the course greens are nothing compared to the putting green. Only disappointment of the rd but for me the greens are the most important part.
