Good course
Very well maintained. Challenge enough but can still enjoy the play.
Great Course
My only negative comment is that is not near me....If it were I would play it every weekend.
Many tough holes only hole not fond is No. 16
Great course
Love this course. Ran into a detour so was about 20 minutes late for my tee time. Pro shop was understanding and still got me off as a single on a busy morning. Course has held up great to the hot summer and excessive rain spouts we’ve had over the past few weeks.
Sugarbush gc
The fairways and greens were great but the rough was terrible
They were cut way too high
It was cut and set up for pros and not the average golfer
When your ball went into the rough it sunk into the grass and you were hitting out of 3-5 inches of grass
Not pretty for the average golfer
A very poor job of cutting and setting up the rough for average golfer
Keep it a Secret
Hesitant to review Sugarbush as I believe it is the best kept quickly becoming unkept secret in Genesee County. Far and away the best public course I’ve played in the area. With the improvements and updates made to the clubhouse and the condition of the course itself you won’t be disappointed with anything but perhaps your actual golf game as the course plays long for a below average hack like myself, but is ultimately a very fair course with challenging and rewarding opportunities, but plenty of places where bad shots are not completely out of play. I would love for this place to have just enough patrons to operate at a profit without becoming so packed that it’s impossible to get a round in, but at some point golfers who want to play courses that are well maintained and well thought out are all going to be booking their tee times at Sugarbush. For now, consider yourself fortunate if you can play a round here without having to wait on every tee…but bring a couple of extra balls (or sleeves) if you play like me.
Fun layout
Played from green/white tees. Good for seniors. Greens are challenging.
Sugarbush 18 Holes
Greens: Excellent, good speed but a little slower than they looked.
Tees: Very good.
Fairways: Very good.
Rough: Very good.
Cart paths: Good. There is one long wooden bridge that seems a little rickety.
Bunkers: Excellent.
Layout: from the front tees, excellent variety. Has many tee options, so you should be able to find a length that suits your game.
MSGOLD
Sugar Bush will challenge the average and best golfers.
Loooong
Course is in great shape! and taken care of. You can tell they have dumped some money into it recently. Greens in great shape too. Good overall value BUT pace is slow. It’s long and challenging and lots of ol timers and bad golfers like myself made for a slow round. Best value in the area just need to be ready to make a day of it. Be ready to hit ALL your clubs!
