Stonehedge South Course at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort

About
Gull Lake View Golf Club & Resort is the oldest and largest golf resort in southwest Michigan. It offers five championship courses that draw visitors from throughout the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Canada. Located in Michigan's scenic lake region, all of the courses have a beautiful landscape with scenic views. The Stonehedge South Course is the third out of the five golf courses. Charles Scott, a well known name in the area, designed the course in 1988. The layout plays through rolling, wooded countryside that offers interesting elevation changes throughout. The golf course has a classic layout that calls for a variety of different shots. The greens are quick and gently sloped. Pinpointing a single signature hole is difficult since each one has a unique character and offers a different challenge.

A must golf destination!
This course was such a great surprise, I have golfed on courses by many of the great designers and this track keeps up nicely! Fairways and greens are large, lush and free of flaws, the green surfaces are very smooth and probably stimp out around 10, but no ball hop. Fairway are tree lined but generous. The staff was very kind and helpful. The pace of play was good in spite of being fairly busy. I have golfed one of the other courses that they own and the quality is consistent.
Great course
Course in great shape. Friendly staff. Used Golfnow and got a good deal. Pace of play excellent.
Great courses
The south course is a tougher track than the north i thought. Played the North course earlier in the week and got my 1st Ace
Mother's Day
Great time. Course played fair and they allowed carts. Only disappointment was I booked it @ $15, but when arrived at course they said rates had gone up after that. Why not honor the rate when you book it. It was Mother's Day, was not going to argue. BUT THAT IS SOOO WRONG.
A bit tight but overall nice
The South Course is the tighter of the two Stonehedge layouts at Gull Lake View, with some fairly dramatic elevation changes to boot. Its in-house design gives it a down-home feel, along with some quirky holes and features. All these things keep the golfer on his or her toes.
Like all the courses at the resort, the South is well-maintained and staffed by truly friendly people. It's part of what makes this family-owned resort so popular.
Very slow play
Course had very slow play. It took 5 1/2 hours to play a round. Marshall on the course was very ineffective with that many players on the course.
Good Tines
Enjoyed Stonehedge South with my golf buddies. First really nice golfing day weather wise. Course really busy and therefore played slow
Great value
Course was a great deal for what you get. Conditions were very good only a couple muddy areas but it is still May so understandable. First time playing this area and will definitely be back and would recommend
Tough Weather
Played in 48 degrees with 15-20 mph wind, yet enjoyed ourselves. Course in great condition. Tree lined fairways and rolling terrain helped us avoid the direct wind.
nice course in decent shape
Course was in good shape and the pace of play was good since we went off early.
Gull Lake South Fun
Played on Fathers Day. A bit slow due to a couple of slow foursomes. Course was in great shape. Greens were a bit slow however they did water the course very well earlier that morning.
Lots of shot making holes with quite a few tree lined fairways. If you spray the ball a bit like me, make sure your short game is fully ready.
Course personnel was great. Rangers were helpful. Our group liked the South course but prefers the North if they had to choose. Both courses are worth the drive and also fun to play.
beautiful course
beautiful, well kept, and somewhat challenging course. had a blast playing it
March golf in Michigan
The course was in good shape considering it’s March. This course always plays well and is a good challenge.
