Stonehedge South Course at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort
About
Gull Lake View Golf Club & Resort is the oldest and largest golf resort in southwest Michigan. It offers five championship courses that draw visitors from throughout the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Canada. Located in Michigan's scenic lake region, all of the courses have a beautiful landscape with scenic views. The Stonehedge South Course is the third out of the five golf courses. Charles Scott, a well known name in the area, designed the course in 1988. The layout plays through rolling, wooded countryside that offers interesting elevation changes throughout. The golf course has a classic layout that calls for a variety of different shots. The greens are quick and gently sloped. Pinpointing a single signature hole is difficult since each one has a unique character and offers a different challenge.

Beautiful course and area
Worth a visit, course was in fantastic shape, Fall colors were beginning to show (great in Spring also). Pace was a little slow but we played into a small outing.
'his course has great features.
Enjoyed the course, the difficulty and the greens. Will again play there and have my friends play there again. I play with a group sometimes 18 people and would encourage them to play Stonehedge south.
Excellent course
Great course with a great staff. Greens were in excellant conditions!! Only disappointment were the high Food sand Drink prices.
Great Place to Play
A truly wonderful course (south course) on par with what one would expect from a premium "Up North" course without the premium price or drive.
Exceptional pace of play and outstanding conditions; the only (slight) negative was that the greens seemed a smidge slow. However, playing this beautiful course from the tips gave us all we could handle.
I can't wait to go back this fall to see the tree-lined fairways's color show. Play this course!
Deserving of the 5 star rating by Golf Digest
Beautiful track. As indicated in review by another golfer..."each hole could be the signature hole." Were it not for the Golfnow deal might have "missed out" on this gem. Regardless, if you're not on a budget book a tee time. You won't regret it.
Nice Course
Nice course in great condition, very challenging, caught the group in front with in 2 holes paired up with a twosome behind me and eventually another single for a foursome.
Course beautiful, staff not the friendliest
Unless you find good deal in golf now would recommend yarrow or medalist. Staff in bar asked me to leave table because if big outing coming after I had just paid for a gin. & tonic and brat. At that moment decided I probably would not return. Too many other nice courses in area w/ better service.
Excellent choice
We played first thing. No wait, played a twosome in 2hrs 20 mins. Course was in excellent shape and one of the best values I've had this year.
beautiful course
This is one of the most beautiful courses I have ever played. It was also in excellent condition. Many of the fairways are treelined but the undergrowth has been mowed to look almost parklike in places. There are also dry stone fences and rhododendrons scattered though out the course. If it wasn't over an hour from my house, I would play it at least once a week. I highly recommend it for everyone.
Great Deal!!
My son and I enjoyed playing on this course together. We ate lunch after the first 9 and then continued our game. The staff was friendly and helpful. This was our first Golf Now App purchase and we will continue to check it for more deals.
Great day on a great course
Stonehedge South requires accuracy off the tee and some shot planning making it an excellent challenge. Tree lined wonderfully maintained fairways, elevation changes, and excellent greens made for a very pleasurable round. Being more of a grip it and rip player it forced a lot more thought when on the tee box than I am used to lately. Although I enjoyed the north course for its variety and 6 par 5's scoring opportunities, the south course surprised me when at the end of the day I decided I would choose it over the north course and most others within an hour of GR. One of the best courses I have played in the last couple of years.
Awesome course
Stonehedge south is the best course around the Kalamazoo area. My favorite
Must play in SW Michigan
An absolute gem of a track. Course was in immaculate condition greens were rolling true and overall the course survived the harsh winter and spring tremendously well. Landscape of course with elevation changes gives you a northern michigan feel and array of mature pines gives you the aura of the pinehurst region..look forward to playing again someday soon..
Well maintained course
Stonehedge South was in excellent condition. The many course workers were evident throughout play. Course is a little tight for the intermediate golfer but with a nice layout.
Lot of hill's
Great course to play, fairway's and green's are always in good shape. There is a lot of hill's using a golf cart is suggested unless you are in very good shape.
Opening day
Weather has not been grass friendly but course conditions were much better than expected. Greens, fairways, and tees were outstanding given the time of year. Tough course but fun. Highly recommended.
My experience
For so early in the season, I found this course in excellent shape greens were fabulous even though it was mid to late April
Great course for a great price
Well first I must admit I am slightly biased because I made an ace during this round, which automatically make me like this course. On a course note, this one is in very nice shape and is very playable. Would've played far faster except the foursome in front of us kept saying there was a group in front of them, which became an apparent lie as soon as we hit a par 5 and nobody was to be found.
Challenging and fun to play
Great condition and well designed layout. Very enjoyable experience. Best course I have played this year.
Beautiful course in the woods in fantastic shape
Played South Course on a beautiful day from the green tees. Beautiful shape. Actually in the woods on hills and valleys of a moraine. Trees were trimmed up and there was virtually no sticks or leaves on the ground. Greens were great shape. They were not slow or fast - just right for us. Great value via GolfNow, but also a good value pro shop rates. Lots of shot making and distance not so important.
