Stonehedge South Course at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort

About
Gull Lake View Golf Club & Resort is the oldest and largest golf resort in southwest Michigan. It offers five championship courses that draw visitors from throughout the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Canada. Located in Michigan's scenic lake region, all of the courses have a beautiful landscape with scenic views. The Stonehedge South Course is the third out of the five golf courses. Charles Scott, a well known name in the area, designed the course in 1988. The layout plays through rolling, wooded countryside that offers interesting elevation changes throughout. The golf course has a classic layout that calls for a variety of different shots. The greens are quick and gently sloped. Pinpointing a single signature hole is difficult since each one has a unique character and offers a different challenge.

Favorite gull lake course.
Staff friendly. Great golf course. Michigan golf at its best. Would be nice if gull lake had a better food program. Would have stayed later if we could have dined at facility. I think they are missing on that opportunity.
Excellent course
Had an excellent game ! Played with a group of guys that had me rolling on the ground. Course was challenging for a mid handicapper. Tee box-fairways-greens all in awesome condition. Will definitely be going back.
Professional course
You can't find a better course for the money. Challenging but fair. Excellent condition.
Richland, MI is a golf destination!
While Stonehenge South is only one of what will soon be 6 golf courses in the "Scott Collection," I feel it is one of the most beautiful of them. It has a woodsy feel all the way around and will challenge all skilled levels of layers with 5 sets of tee boxes. (Choose your poison folks!) A wonderful golf destination.
Great course
I really enjoyed playing this course. It's a medium on difficulty level. It's not very long and you can score well, if you stay out of the trees. That's the most difficult part of the course. My only complaint is something the course can't control and that's the buzzing from electrical wires above on a couple of the holes. It's so quiet and peaceful that the noise is very noticeable. Other than that the course was in great shape and I would definitely go back.
Great course
This course is very well maintained, challenging but fair, and offers five sets of tee boxes to accommodate all levels of golfers. Part of a five course group and all five are well worth playing. Played in late October in MI with sunshine and 60*F which is a blessing. Even saw a buck chasing a doe across the fairway on hole number 11. Great time.
Scenic & Challenging Course
Second time here - and look forward to playing it again (soon I hope!)
Beautiful course
Highly recommend this course, very narrow fairways and hilly. No water, but the traps and stones along the edge made up for the difficulty. Will be playing there again.
Easy course
Course was in very nice condition, except that traps had not been raked recently. Much easier than I had expected. No water hazards of any kind on the course and greens are essentially flat. But for $26 it's worth a look.
Stonehenge South
The course is always in great condition, I have played this course a few times now and the weekends are filled with many slow older golfers. The North course seems to keep a better pace of play on the weekends, it took 5 hours for the round with a group or two waiting to tee off on each hole.
Great for all players
The course was in great condition the greens were well maintained! Some challenging hole and others allowed you too attack! Tough pin placement this day lead to a satisfactory 79! I would recommend this course to all skill levels fun and challenging just know what box you should play from! Choosing the right color box will determine how much fun you have!
A beautiful course
I keep returning to Stonehedge South golf course as I deem it to be one of the prettiest courses in West Michigan, while still providing a significant challenge. The course is very well maintained by a most courteous maintenance staff, who go about their business while constantly respecting your play.

Not quite as good as the North Course
Stonehedge South is a short, tight course that's a lot of fun to play. The 6,6,6 format is a welcome change from normal course layouts and the course is well taken care of. There's not a lot of water on this course, but they do get you with bunkers. Driveable par 4's have sand in front of them and there are bunkers in the landing areas of some par 5's.

Aday at Stonehedge South
Course is tight, makes you think and the greens are tough. I liked the overall layout. I would one thing with the weather as hot as it was they only had one beer cart for 36 holes, it mattered because there wasn't enough water available around the course.

WONDERFUL COURSE
This course is a fantastic value for the money!
The fairways and greens were exceptional. Wife and I had a very enjoyable round. Players of all ages and skill will enjoy playing this course. The fairways are wide, bunkers are few, and water hazards are non existent! Shot placement is important, especially on your approach shot into the greens.
There are a lot of trees on the course, but maintained so that you can hit out from under them.
If I lived in the area, I would put this one on "My must play monthly" list.

Beautiful course has the up north feel half the drive
We will be back for the excellent golf and hospitality. .........
Rude staff
We use Golfnow alot and we are finding many courses treat you differently because they aren't making any money off your group.
Nice and Slow
The North course (front 9) is a great course for golfers who are walking. Very gentle with little trouble. A fun course for those who tend to spray their shots or need some open space. The back 9, if walking, will have you feeling a bit like a mountain goat. Several steep hills and you are playing par 5s up the hill. We gave up on the North course after 2.5 hours for 9 holes. We switched to the South course. While narrower and a bitt more hilly, it was far prettier and we played it in under 2 hours. Staff was friendly. The down side is that there was no where to get a beverage on the North course after 9 holes as the soda machine was out and so was the water fountain. Overall, I enjoy playing there. One final plus is that there are "Pro Tips" provided for each hole to warn you (however vague) about any dangers.
