Twin Birch Golf Club
About
The beautiful setting of Twin Birch Golf Club in Kalkaska features stands of red pine and birch trees lining the fairways and the Boardman River, which winds its way all throughout the course. The golf course is mostly flat with the exception of a few raised greens on the back nine. The greens on the front nine are level with open fronts, inviting players to attach the flags. There are ample landing zones along the tree-lined fairways, making Twin Birch a golf course that will appeal to beginners and high handicappers but there are still challenges in store for the more advanced golfers as well. Some of the doglegs holes can be quite tricky. There are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along some of the greensides and water comes into play on eight holes.

Nice greens
The fairways were cut and the greens were in good shape No waiting on layer right through with no issues. I will go back. Good tacos also.
Twin Birch Sun Aug 20
Tee time at 11:50. Arrived early and were greeted friendly and offered to tee early, which we did. Great couples-golf outing. DO call ahead to get snack at the turn, or, expect lengthy wait for hot dog.
We had a great day at this course. Will be back
I've played this course many times, best shape i have seen. Very well maintained!
Great Value!
This is a fantastic course for the value! Very well maintained. Must keep it in the fairway to score well.
Excellent value
We are average golfers and this course is perfect for our skill level. Very enjoyable yet challenging enough to keep us coming back. Very well maintained, friendly greens, courteous and friendly staff in the pro shop and restaurant. Beautiful trout streams runs through the course. You won't be disappointed playing at Twin Birch in Northern Michigan.
Excellent layout and great value to play. I will be back.
Not the best greens in Michigan
We came here because their website boasts the best greens in northern Michigan. Their greens are Jank at best. I've had better roll Vegas craps tables.
Love the course, nice for older people since not many hills to climb. Staff couldn't be nicer and food is great, Harry and Connie
Fun Course
Not too long. Well kept, greens rolled well, and nice staff.
twin birch a hidden gem
If you are an average golfer and sort of like to be challenged by more narrow fairways and woods then this could be your course. Not a lot of elevation changes, but some interesting water and narrow landing areas. All in all a very fun round and the food in the club house is good. Very friendly staff. New electric carts with ball and club washers mounted on both sides. The prices are extremely friendly for this area also. Even if you just walk in and play a round. Please give them a try and enjoy Northern Michigan golf at what I think is one of the better places. Like the area, it is laid back and relaxed.
Great value
This is one of the best values in NW Michigan. The fairways are a little too tight for me, but my drives are a little wild. The driving range has a good big bucket of balls for $5. On Saturday they have $1 tacos. It is just a nice time . . . a really nice time.
A great value course
Twin Birch is an excellent golf course that is laid out around the Boardman River. In addition to several over-the-river shots, there are a few ponds scattered throughout. This course is always a great value. Pace of play is usually pretty fast with 18 holes doable in just over 3 hours if you like. Most fairways are lined with woods, but the understory allows you to locate lost balls pretty easily. Overall a great course to keep in mind if you do not want to spend a whole lot of cash.
I bit disappointed
I have played this course before. Played the front 9 with a great pace. When we got to the turn there was a group of 12 players. They were allowed to sit and have lunch as a group and they were just starting the back nine when we arrived. It forced to play a 3 hour back nine or repeat playing the front 9 again. We opted to play the front 9 again.
Good day
Beautiful and mature course. Staff were very pleasant. Will go back.
beautiful with the stream thru course
Very good value for the area, not crowed,so pace of play is good. Greens are a little slow but in good shape.
