Twin Birch Golf Club
About
The beautiful setting of Twin Birch Golf Club in Kalkaska features stands of red pine and birch trees lining the fairways and the Boardman River, which winds its way all throughout the course. The golf course is mostly flat with the exception of a few raised greens on the back nine. The greens on the front nine are level with open fronts, inviting players to attach the flags. There are ample landing zones along the tree-lined fairways, making Twin Birch a golf course that will appeal to beginners and high handicappers but there are still challenges in store for the more advanced golfers as well. Some of the doglegs holes can be quite tricky. There are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along some of the greensides and water comes into play on eight holes.

Old School Track
Great course for the price. I wish I would have brought my push cart. Tight layout with nice greens. I always enjoy playing here!
Very nice
Very nice golf course and the staff was very friendly. The greens seemed a little slow compared to the courses at Shanty Creek, however, they were in great shape and very smooth. The course is nothing fancy but is still very enjoyable. We will play again.
Staff
The guy in the pro shop was not very friendly. I showed up a little early and he wouldn’t let me tee off till my exact tee time. The tee was wide open for 40 minuets and he wouldn’t let me tee off.
Very well kept
Don't let the par 71 throw you off. This is a beautiful, well kept course that is a challenge. We play here quite often and in the past couple of years the course continually improved. Don't pass this course up!
A course you will play again
The course was one i havent heard of be fore this . But i am tipping my hat to golf now for offering it ,and at a fantastic rate that makes this course a fantastic value . Beautiful fairways ,,,tree lined but a course anyone could play ,,, perfect greens ,,and a beautiful layout .. Give it a try like i did and i am sure it will also be a course you will want to play again ...Thank you Golf now !!
Up North golfing - great value
This course is great value for the money . Book it on GolfNow what for hot deals I’ve been on there for as little as $13-$14 for 18 with the cart . It has the feel of an up north course cut through the woods very peaceful. It appears they recently got new golf carts which are electric. There are quite a few dogleg holes so be prepared - this is not a course to simply pull out the driver on every hole - it forces you to think about yardages and placement. I recommend you give the course a try I think you will come back.
Front nine very tight
Front nine is especially demanding leaving very little room for errant tee shots. Not a lot of elevation changes but very few greens are visible from the tee box.
True Value
Played a lot of courses in the area. Twin Birch is an excellent value for your money. Greens are in great shape, fairways and tee boxes are well manicured. The course is laid out to present a challenge for any level golfer. Enjoyed it so much went back 2 days later.
Memorial day weekend round
Went out with a couple buddies for 18 holes. The course was in great shape. Pace of play was perfect, due to the fact we had a beginner playing. And the wings afterwards was top notch. Have been here many times and have never been disappointed.
Excellent Course Superb Value!
Wonderful golf course! Everything is in great shape! Staff was great! This course is the best value in the area.
Great value
We live on the famous Bear at the Grand Traverse Resort and can play any of the 3 courses there; We often play Twin Birch because you just can't beat the value. We get the good deal through Golf Now online.
Also, the little restaurant has great bar food.
Course was in excellent condition
Even though the weather had been quite warm and dry, the course was in great condition
Great value for the money
While this course obviously is not on par with the championship resort courses, I thought it was a great course for the money. Greens were in excellent shape however rather flat and uneventful. Fairways were beautifully lined with pine and birch trees. Forward tees were lady friendly but still offered some challenging holes. Clubhouse/restaurant was pretty sketchy but we weren't planning on eating there
Nice course for the money
The course is in good condition, but is narrow in some areas. The pace was sooo slow for the first 4 holes-till the super slow group in front of us finally let us through.
