Twin Birch Golf Club
About
The beautiful setting of Twin Birch Golf Club in Kalkaska features stands of red pine and birch trees lining the fairways and the Boardman River, which winds its way all throughout the course. The golf course is mostly flat with the exception of a few raised greens on the back nine. The greens on the front nine are level with open fronts, inviting players to attach the flags. There are ample landing zones along the tree-lined fairways, making Twin Birch a golf course that will appeal to beginners and high handicappers but there are still challenges in store for the more advanced golfers as well. Some of the doglegs holes can be quite tricky. There are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along some of the greensides and water comes into play on eight holes.

Great course
jCourse was unbelievable great condition! There has been a ton of rain this year and the course was still excellently maintained. Not too tough but not too easy, tougher than I thought based on the course history. I would defiantly recommend to anyone who is in the area.
Impressed
First time there for an outing. Both greens and fairways were in great shape. Greens are flat with subtle breaks. No elevation changes, but good character of holes. Bell’s on tap.
All Around Average
Playing Twin Birch made for a pretty monotonous round. Almost all of the green complexes are uninteresting and similar. Parts of the routing don't make much sense. There are a few good holes, mostly on the back, but the others are stale. It was a relatively easy walk despite some distance between green and tee. The conditioning was actually pretty good, but it's a cheap round of golf. You get what you pay for, in my opinion.
2nd time this week
Enjoyed the course so much on Sunday, we came back today. A fair test of our abilities.
Enjoyable
Great course for all skill levels. Tree lined fairways mandate straight drives. Greens were firm and fast. Going back Tuesday to play 18 more. Reasonable price.
Twin Birch
Nice Kalkaska course. Some narrow fairways make it harder to score if your drives are not kept straight. The rains & collet temps have helped keep greens and fairways in good shape. It was windy the day I played and there was a lot of tree droppings cluttering the putting lines. Would have been nice if certain greens were blown off to make putting more enjoyable. Pace was great - done in 3 hr 40minutes.
Great golf
This course is always in good condition.a lot of tight fairways. Greens are true and receptive..Restaurant has good prices and selection
Hidden gem
Relatively tight; nice fairway, greens roll nice, not real fast. Not a lot of elevation change.Home 14 is quite a challenge.
Old School Track
Great course for the price. I wish I would have brought my push cart. Tight layout with nice greens. I always enjoy playing here!
Very nice
Very nice golf course and the staff was very friendly. The greens seemed a little slow compared to the courses at Shanty Creek, however, they were in great shape and very smooth. The course is nothing fancy but is still very enjoyable. We will play again.
Staff
The guy in the pro shop was not very friendly. I showed up a little early and he wouldn’t let me tee off till my exact tee time. The tee was wide open for 40 minuets and he wouldn’t let me tee off.
Very well kept
Don't let the par 71 throw you off. This is a beautiful, well kept course that is a challenge. We play here quite often and in the past couple of years the course continually improved. Don't pass this course up!
