Twin Birch Golf Club
About
The beautiful setting of Twin Birch Golf Club in Kalkaska features stands of red pine and birch trees lining the fairways and the Boardman River, which winds its way all throughout the course. The golf course is mostly flat with the exception of a few raised greens on the back nine. The greens on the front nine are level with open fronts, inviting players to attach the flags. There are ample landing zones along the tree-lined fairways, making Twin Birch a golf course that will appeal to beginners and high handicappers but there are still challenges in store for the more advanced golfers as well. Some of the doglegs holes can be quite tricky. There are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along some of the greensides and water comes into play on eight holes.

A pleasant surprise
Played thus course sight unseen and was pleasantly surprised. Some challenging holes but not punishingly hard. Will play it again.
One of Best Values on Golf Now
It's hard to be disappointed by Twin Birch when you pay $10 - $15 through Golf Now. This course can offer a challenge to golfers of all abilities and skill, and is well maintained and sculpted. You won't find too many elevation changes in the fairways; but you will find tight doglegs and narrow fairways that demand precise shot placement and club selection. The greens are very well maintained and smoother than a lot of higher priced courses available on Golf Now. The Twin Birch Golf Course will play a lot different from the whites as opposed to the Blues, offering a different challenge every time you play it, I definitely recommend it.
Tight
Very narrow fairways! Lots of doglegs. Lots of woods and trees. Did I say narrow fairways? Lost lots of balls. Very flat. Greens are flat and true, but extrememly difficult course. Hit em straight!
Eagle on 18
An eagle on 18 will make most anyone happy with the course. Not many on the course and so play was very fast. Green conditions were very good. No ball washers on course so make sure your cart is equipped with one .
Twin Birch
Great value...!! The course was in great condition
Nice Course for a GREAT price!
Hubby & I played course while vacationing in TC on our 26th wedding anniversary. Nice course, nice day, nice people, nice price - $20/Each for 18 holes with a cart! Plus I played by best 9 ever here! I would encourage any women golfers to play this course. I'm not a super long hitter, but I kept 'em straight and that is the key to this course. Enjoy!
Keep it in the fairway
A very nice little course in Kalkaska Michigan. It's a bit of a challenge because of the trees and some tight fairways. A flat course that's easy to walk. The fairways are well maintained and the greens, while just a little on the slow side are in excellent shape.
Very well kept for the caliber of course.
Enjoyed our round. Greens in very good condition and for the most part played true. Lots of mature trees so important to keep ball in fairway. Will definitely play again.
Well maintained golf course
I found Twin Birch to be a very enjoyable course, and a very good value. The course was very well maintained, and green were excellent condition.
Might be the best value in NW Michigan
The only negative is there is very little evelvation change. The woods are beautiful. The course is in great shape. Green are average speed but very smooth. Looks like they have a lot of seniors that play so the blue tees are in great shape. We played for only $11. If felt like I was taking advantage of them. Nice folks, not pretentious. Terrific hot dogs at the turn. I don't think the owners realize what a gem they have here.
Nice course
Fantastic price! Greens were fantastic, not extremely long, lot of irons off tee shots, and fairly narrow on few holes. At the price I paid $14 it was more than a great deal!!
Tight fairways....
Greens & fairways in great shape, hole are short but tight ( tree lined ) no food/bev cart only snacks avail at club house....
Nice course
Nice wide fairways in great condition. Great value.
Nice quiet course
I'll go again
Nice in a beautiful stream running through it. There's a couple of my balls in it. Great course for my budget.
Very nice! Excellent value!
Very nice course! New Owners are keeping it in great shape! Greens were some of the best I've played. Food and service were very good.
Staff that handle tee times
Staff that handled our tee times were extremely rude. I didn't know anything about this website ( golf advisor) I explained when I went in I was trying to get the tee time for 12:20 for $12.00. She very rudely stated we don't do that! The only reason why I found out about this website is by asking more questions. Also a young lady was sitting there helping me to get the number to call.
Great Value and Great People
I was able to take my 6 year old son to play a round at a great price. The staff and locals were very nice to us. Great stop on the way to Traverse City. Worth the time and money.
Good course / bad representation
This is the second time I have played this course... The carts are nice n clean course was nice.. Staff the second time there seemed even less friendly? My cart seemed to slow down very bad by hole 14...thought that was weird but o well....
By hole 16 it was dead.. Had to call the club house to get a new one... Never once did anyone say they were sorry ... Ok... Maybe there are busy... So about 15 minutes later, a lady brought us out a new one.... Not only did she never apologize , she acted like it was a HUGE inconvenience to bring us a new cart....
I'm sorry , your cart died on me in the middle of a game.... I wound not go back
nice local course, away from the hubbub of big city life
the course was in excellent shape, especially the greens compared to what I had played in northern Michigan so far. The holes are not as easy as they look, placement off the tee is very important. Very nice local course, away from all the hubbub of Traverse City. Staff were very friendly, Holes were lengthy enough to be a little challenge from the womens tees, but not too long. Would highly recommend.
the coarse was nice, the pro shop attendent was unfriendly.
