Golden Hawk Golf Club
About
Golden Hawk Golf Club is an 18-hole course in Casco Township, which is just south of Richmond. You won't find too many elevation changes throughout the course but you will encounter plenty of water. There are also 36 bunkers coming into play on 12 holes. The course isn't particularly long at 6,117 yards from the back tees, but the par 4s offers some good length and the ample room off the fairways gives the course a spacious feel. The fairways are generous and quite forgiving, but golfers will face tough approaches to the greens, which are often nestled into the woods or bordered by ponds. The slightly elevated, undulating putting surfaces require accuracy. Golden Hawk Golf Club is a fair test but it's player friendly enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence.

This course holds its own
Look, you're not playing a top tier course, this is a great course to get out and swing, keep loose. It's short so you don't need your driver on most holes. Even from the tips but the fairways are decent and the greens were actually really nice (with the exception of a couple with patches). Again, not a top tier course.
I'll be playing there a couple more times this season.
Golden Hawk Review
The staff is nice and friendly.
The course on the other hand is in rough shape and has been all season. They overbook on weekends never starting on time - this has been the same for the past few years.
Golden Hawk has a weird shotgun every week that starts on holes 7,8,9 so they all can end at the same time not taking in consideration of the golfers that are on the course already and have to end their round or go to other holes and ruin your round.
The range never has golf balls and the "range balls" are all cut up and extremely old. You hit off older mats or grass that has divots everywhere, you cant get a comfortable stance. The range "targets" are just some flags in middle of a field without any true greens to aim at.
The sand bunkers have little to no sand in them, your either hitting off cement or out of standing water. The sand that is in the bunker is full of rocks that will ruin your club if you dont move ball out of trap.
The cart paths are all gravel and do not get graded often. Many potholes and standing water that you need to dodge.
The greens are inconstant speeds due to the lack of feralization. Super slow and many of the greens have turf damage that you need to putt through which makes the putt impossible.
I joined as a season member and have chosen not to golf at the course due to the above reasons. The GM made promises that haven't been kept by her, I only joined after having a conversation with her. Not sure if she gets the support she needs to turn the course into the course it has the potential to be.
Hot Deal Twosome
Got a Hot Deal for $28 a person on a Friday Morning. Was busier than expected but moved along fine. Played my best round of the year so far.. I am a lefty and this course seems to set up great for me. Hadn’t played here much but will be back more often..
Please ball cleaners are bone dry??? No towels
Course was great needs water tho, greens are way better!! Better roll, more true! Please put water in ball cleaners with drying rags.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Golden Hawk Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.

Pass on Golden Hawk
I am a current member at Golden Hawk and The Myth. I predominantly golf at The Myth and use Golden Hawk sparingly because of the distance (60 miles round trip). On 6/24/22, I had a 6:00 am tee time. Yet, the golf course was not open to accommodate my tee time. I texted and emailed Monique Lynch, the General Manager, at Golden Hawk for a round of golf for a guest because of my inconvenience, but both went unanswered. I further had to call Ms. Lynch who was short and curt on the phone and did not think my wasted time and expense warranted any further discussion. In fact, I have had prior discussions with Ms. Lynch, who previously said that “they NEVER miss a tee time” which obviously is not the case.
What makes this so infuriating is that as a customer I can understand that these things happen. Missing my tee time isn’t the end of the world. Yet, what matters is how, as the General Manager, you respond to it to make your customers whole. As an example, Debbie Lico is the General Manager at The Myth and my experience with her has been the exact opposite. Debbie introduced herself the first day I was a member, listened to my feedback regarding online reservations and has been extremely communicative with her emails and calls. Further, from her staff at the front desk (Brendan, Tom) to the grounds keepers (Donovan, Leigh Ann), my membership at The Myth has been much more enjoyable than Golden Hawk.
Granted, I have received very positive experiences with the Ranger and Staff on site at Golden Hawk, Yet, with Ms. Lynch as the General Manager I know that as one who spent $1,350 on a golf membership, I will look elsewhere next year instead of Golden Hawk and I suggest you do the same as there are so many better choices to spend your money especially here in Michigan.
We’re sorry to hear of your less-than-satisfactory experience and hope you will accept our sincerest apologies.
We value our customers' opinions and would like to make things right and determine how we can provide a solution that makes you smile.
Please contact us directly at the pro shop. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Very Nice Course
Overall the course was very nice! Lots of trees, some water to deal with, and quite challenging in general. Pace of play was very, very slow, but not sure if this is normal or just based on the day I went. Would recommend!
Great experience golfing today
I golfed here 10 plus years ago and today was the first time back. They have done amazing things with the course. The course was well maintained, friendly service, good food. I will be back.
Thank you for taking the time to review the course. We take single star feedback very seriously at our course. You are welcome to comment further or reach out to our team in the golf shop. We always appreciate the feedback.
