About
Golden Hawk Golf Club is an 18-hole course in Casco Township, which is just south of Richmond. You won't find too many elevation changes throughout the course but you will encounter plenty of water. There are also 36 bunkers coming into play on 12 holes. The course isn't particularly long at 6,117 yards from the back tees, but the par 4s offers some good length and the ample room off the fairways gives the course a spacious feel. The fairways are generous and quite forgiving, but golfers will face tough approaches to the greens, which are often nestled into the woods or bordered by ponds. The slightly elevated, undulating putting surfaces require accuracy. Golden Hawk Golf Club is a fair test but it's player friendly enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence.

Pace of play
Pace of play was awful. Waiting on every shot and every hole. Tee times just scheduled too close. Has awesome potential. Wouldnt recommend golfing here until tee times are spread out.
Sloooooow play
Seems like the course are getting greedy post COVID.
Stacking 4 foursomes at the tee block at the same tee time this course is no exception.
5 hour round not a pleasant experience.
Greens were not in great shape.

Cleaned up nicely since the June rains
Cart paths greatly improved. Fairways, rough, & greens nicely groomed.
worse value for local golf
$35 for 9 holes, on a below average condition, slow pace course with, help tried of hearing about it and just agree with you.

Pride
Decent course. Played it for under $29 with hot deal and promo on a Saturday AM. A lot of trash in the woods near tee boxes. I understand why their are league openings. Take pride in your course and it could be a whole lot better.

There was a wedding so we were asked to go into the clubhouse and wait a bit before we went off the back 9. We didn't mind as we were hungry. However, when we went inside, the staff person said they did not have anything to offer us because they had a wedding going on. There were several other people at the bar asking the same thing. She said she would normally have hot dogs but didn't put them on the roller. The sign in the lobby had specials, she said they were also unavailable.
I’ve played there multiple times and typically book the earliest tee time and every time I show up and have to wait 30 minutes until staff shows up. By the time I’m able to check in, things are typically already backed up (especially it being the summer where things have opened back up since COVID). Really good price, but it definitely shows the money you pay for with this course. Would not recommend.

Does the vargo company know what they are doing
This place was starting to come around slowly at the beginning of the year. The staff all seemed miserable this visit. I asked one who died and was told they brought back an old manager. Seems to make sense for this company. Things start getting better, let’s bring back someone from when it was awful. Not going to be giving them my money anymore. To many other good courses close by. If they don’t care about the product why should we as golfers care anymore.

Reservations
Don’t like the “online only” reservation system. I don’t want to pay the service charge and couldn’t ask about senior rates.
Traps were hard and horrible. Cart paths were like bomb craters. Hadn’t played here in @ 8 years. The place has been let go

It rained the night before and when we arrived for our 6am tee time sprinkler system was on.the course was quite wet with the cart path impassable in spots.course was in good shape and greens were fine.
