Challenging layout
The greens were quick and fairways had most of the leaves cleared, so very playable. The staff was very cordial and accommodating.. Enjoyed our round, thanks!
My favorite regional course
A great value for a course with a terrific variety of features. I love the elevation changes and the abundance of trees. It's just a beautiful golf course.
Beautiful, Challenging Course
This is a beautiful golf course. Some narrow fairways and undulating greens. Several elevated greens or tees are on this course. I will play again. My only criticism is the fairways are not marked very well. The red 100 yard markers in the fairways are not easy to see. Having some stakes on the side of the fairways would be nice. There are some sprinkler heads with yardage markers. But several sprinkler head covers were missing. There are white PVC piping that seem to be randomly placed in the fairways with red, white or blue caps to tell you where the pin on the green is locate: front, middle or back.
Lots of challenges
This course has a lot of hills and elevation changes along with plenty of trees and several significantly uphill holes. There ate NO flat holes on this course. Having said that it’s fun and challenging to play. Course conditions are average with the exception of a few tee boxes being pretty beat up. Small tee boxes for the Sr and Ladies tees on several holes just do not leave enough room for rotating the blocks to allow for grass recovery. The full sun greens were fast and partial day sun greens a little slower. Holes 1-7 and 11,12 are fairly tight and close together with adjacent fairway players finding your fairway a few times during the round. Pace of play on a Saturday was 3:35!
Great home town course - pace of play poor
Course is in good shape. Nice home town course. I think the tee times where every 6 minutes. there was a 5 sum two groups a head of us and at the turn on #10 tee there were 3 groups waiting to tee off plus our group. I gave up due to the pace of play. No ranger.
Target golf at it's best
Some holes are straight-forward but there are enough that first time players almost need to drive ahead, look at hole layout, and then return to play. Fairly tight fairways cause errant shots from other fairways occasionally and the hills force time spent looking for "blind" shots. If you take a cart, drive slowly as some hills are very steep and the cart we had had worn brakes and you needed to go very slowly and apply htme hard on #10 and a few other holes.

Red Wing is always a fun course that is fairly challenging.
Very cool course!
Really liked the course, absolutely gorgeous views. Took awhile to get golfing unfortunately though, couldn't get anyone to get us a cart. Our tee time was moved from 4:22 to 4:38, if they're running behind it is what it is. But I had to ask for a cart 3 times after the initial check in. The last time 2 employees were in line in front of me, just leaning on the counter and talking. When I said we're still waiting for a cart the guy behind the counter asked one of the 2 to go get me one.... They were available the whole time apparently, but no one would get us one. Saw multiple employees just sitting in carts, went up to a couple and no one would help. Very very frustrating! Not my problem and I don't care attitudes. Really liked the course but staff could really use some basic training.
