Never disappoints
One of my favorite courses to play in the area. Always a must play
Amazing it was playable
The review title might leave some confused. This course endured 12+ inches of rain in the past 10 days, yet was amazing to allow a wonderful round of golf. My hats off to the staff to put this course in the condition it was for the holiday weekend. Yes, it was wet, or maybe swampy would describe it better. Water squishing from under your feet nearly every step. What amazed me the most was the condition of the bunkers. Sand was wet but very fluffy and very playable. Kudos to the staff again, as these bunkers didn’t get like this without a lot of work. Definitely want to play this course again when it’s not completely saturated.
Great Layout, possibly best in Mid MO
Absolutely amazing golf course in Mid Missouri. Fun layout with a mix of great holes that is always in great condition. It was my brother's first time playing this course and as someone who works at a golf course he was blown away by the conditioning and the layout for the price. We ended up having to call it after 13 holes due to a pretty heavy shower that rolled through. Always love when I can get out to Tanglewood.
Can’t wait to go back in the sprinf
Went there on a high recommendation from a coworker. Was lucky to have a day off with good weather for December. Took the hour drive to give it a shot. Was not disappointed. Had to postpone tee time about 30 mins for frost, but wasn’t bad. Was first one out and by time I made the turn, the course has filled quickly. Only thing o can say that was bad, they removed all the tee box markers for the winter. They said they had issues with them being stolen lately. Tee boxes were in good shape. Fairways were really good. Greens were pretty good. Some greens had ball marks that weren’t fixed, but you can’t control lazy golfers. Greens were very challenging. Crazy slope and breaks. Was a fun round amd can’t wait to go back in the spring.
Winter play
The course is still really taken care of for December. Just wish they had some sort of tee box markings.
Golf in December!
We had a great round! Any time you can golf in December it can’t be bad. Golf course was in excellent condition.
Best public course in central Missouri
Last time I played tanglewood was about 7 years ago. Was amazed at the conditions then, and for playing in winter conditions, course is still excellent! The green surrounds and rough areas around the greens are mint, you won’t be penalized and will have a great lie, bunkers excellent, fairways for being winter excellent as well. Greens needed to be rolled, tee markers needed to be put on the tees, and cups needed to be changed are my only complaints. I’ll be back in late spring once it all grows in. The course design and layout doesn’t get enough praise either. Easy course to walk. I’ll be back multiple times next year and years to come.
Best public course in central Missouri
Great layout, excellent conditions as always. Can’t wait to play it in the spring or summer next year. Forgot how good the layout and conditions were. For the price, worth the hour and fifteen drive I have make to play it. Very few public courses have this quality of conditions. I’ll be back again soon.
