Sugar Creek Golf Course

I’ve been going to this course for the past 3 years and it is definitely one I would recommend. Very nice staff, great course layout, and awesome scenic views! Can’t wait to go back!

Loved the course and the staff is always super nice. Only problem I had was that the cart path was really rough and made for an uncomfortable ride. Otherwise it was a great course.

Great course for the price. Back 9 has myriad course layouts. Friendly staff, good time.

Course has a lot of potential. Fairways and tee boxes need some love. Greens were great.

Worst part was the pace, round took 5 hours and while there were marshalls, no one seemed to be doing anything about the slow play even after we insisted multiple times.

Was considering cancelling due to all the rain, Glad we didn't. Don't get me wrong it was cart paths only but this course drains very well, there were low spots that were soggy but lift clean and place works for that.. Will keep that in mind next time we have similar amounts of rain. Arrived ahead of tee time and it worked out that the starter and a fore-some getting ready to tee off allowed our 2 some to jump in front of them which was nice. As mentioned although wet fairways were very playable and in very good condition. Greens were in very good shape. In all, I highly recommend this course and will add it to our list.

Love playing this course every chance I get. It’s cheap and the course conditions get better every day. I played on the Friday afternoon after storms all week and it wasn’t even too wet. The place drains well and it’s a great place to drain some brewskis. Pace of play is slow, but it’s still well worth it. The guy who runs the place is also so dang nice. The staff is always appreciative of every customer who comes out to play there and that’s seemingly harder and harder to come by these days. Can’t wait to play again soon

Sugar Creek is making a comeback! The course is getting some improvements and upgrades, just need to fix the cart paths. Great to see this course turning things around as the layout makes for a fun round of golf.

My friends and i went to play golf yesterday and even had a tee time. The guy working the front desk wouldn’t allow us to play our full 18 because they had a league going on even though we booked a day in advance and the league didn’t start for another few hours. We decided that 9 holes was better than 0 so we went out and played. We ran into the owner and he was awesome. We told him what happened and he gave us his personal phone number to call him when wanted to play again so he could take care of the fees for us. Super nice guy. I love the course. It’s a really cool setup with tough holes. They are currently repairing some parts of it but for the price you can’t beat it!

Sugar Creek is about 30-40 minutes away from the city, depending on traffic. This course has it all. Wide open fairways and tight fairways. Elevated tee boxes and elevated greens. Driveable par 4s/ par 5s you can reach in 2 and tight landing par 4s and long par 5s where you'll need every stroke. You can be successful as a long hitter or playing conservatively. The various elevation changes make this course unique and fun. On a clear day, you can even see the Arch from the 7th tee box. The greens were in fantastic condition. The staff is welcoming and friendly. It's also one of the best value courses in the area in my opinion. Sugar Creek is a fun golf course for a good price which is absolutely worth making the trip to!

Lots of spots where water gathers and the course is swampy or lots of spot where you’re hitting of dirt.

There are a lot of changes being made at Sugar Creek, all of them for the better. Renovations being made not only to the clubhouse but also to the back nine will continue to make this a great place to play. It’s great to see all the work being done and changes to the overall look of the course especially the back as I mentioned. The changes are most evident when you walk into the pro shop and interact with the staff. You will be hard pressed to find a better staff and everyone at Sugar Creek treated us like a valued guest… this isn’t always the case with other courses in the area — Without a doubt, the friendliest staff around.

Had a 12 tee time, got to start a littler earlier. Perfect pace of play with Marshall’s keeping an eye.

Greens are in great conditions and the fairways are coming along.

Will definitely be back to play here.

I love this course. I’ve played over 40 different courses in the STL area and the layout of this is one of the most unique I’ve seen. Don’t let holes 1-4 fool you, consider them a warmup. From 5-18, it gets extremely interesting and very challenging. Uphill, downhill and hardly any flat shots, even from the fairway. The 127 slope feels light to me. It’s comparable to other courses I’ve played with slopes of 133-135. Greens are in excellent shape, even after an all day tournament they hosted. For the money, it’s an excellent value. I’ll continue to come back regularly.

Last played here over three years ago and it was swampy and half the greens were ate up.

All the fairways were in great shape (except ten)

ALL the greens were full and smooth

Most overgrown and rough-areas were cleaned up and according to a sign on their bulletin board,cart paths and tee boxes were to be improved although I didn’t notice a bad tee box

This is my favorite course to play around my current living location. The staff members are very respectful and are well trained. This is a very big course with fun different type of par hole lay outs. This course is not flat as it has ridges you tee off from. It personally doesnt bother me, but for others there are some cart paths that are gravel and have pot holes in some different locations throughout the course, but they are working on new pavement to put down. That would be my only complaint about the course. Some tee boxes are a little patchy, but thats all golf courses especially with the summer sun. The greens are cut at a perfect hight and are sprinkled very often with the system. Greens are not slow. Good concession area inside the club house to get on the turn for the back 9. Landscaping is pretty to look at as well.
