About
Sugar Creek Golf Course offers some of the best scenery of any course in the St. Louis area. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the course's elevated tees. The course opened in 1990 with several improvements made in the following years. The layout is a manageable length at just under 6,100 yards. It is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence but there are also challenges in store for more advanced players. Water only comes into play on one hole but there are stands of trees lining the narrow fairways. The golf course will generously reward accuracy and good strategy though it is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to the course, Sugar Creek G.C. also boasts an expansive practice range with 35 hitting stations.

Awesome Value. Underrated Course
Great views, quite playable course, but the great thing is that with the hilly terrain in the area, there’s a great variety with each hole making it hard to feel like things are getting monotonous as you progress through the course. Ground conditions were great as well. And the staff and owner are extremely friendly and accessible. You can tell that they are dedicated to improving and perfecting the experience here, and treat all of us like valued customers.
If I can offer any constructive criticism, I would strongly recommend investing in some electric golf carts, and refurbishing and resurfacing the cart pathways. Otherwise, there is no doubt I’ll be going back.

The best value in St. Louis
Played this course 3 times in the last month. Most underrated course in the area. Greens are as good as any in the area. Fairways for this time of the year are exceptional. Staff really are attentive. Owner came out on the course and personally greeted us. Asked what he could do to improve our golfing experience. Told him to please continue to maintain the outstanding course conditions. We play 10-12 area courses each season; this is by far the best value

This course has beautiful scenery and is very well maintained. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Their clubhouse and restrooms were clean and tidy. We had a blast. I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a beautful course with friendly people in an enjoyable environment at a very competitive price.

Couldn’t be better
You can not beat the Sugar Creek for the price. Best course in the area for the money. Course is always in great conditions. They are good about spacing out tee times to keep up pace of play even on a 70 degree Sunday. Love this course

Awesome course for the right price
This course is awesome! Challenging yet fun, difficult yet rewarding. And absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The drive up to the Club House was spectacular. I love the different elevations and curvature of the course. And you CAN'T beat the price for what you get. Merry the owner in the course searching for improvements too! SUPER nice guy! Clearly cars about the course and the staff within it. The staff was polite, conversational and just all around present. I will DEFINITELY be going back asap.

Getting Better
I gave up on Sugar Creek a few years ago but they have made improvements. Course still a little quirky but greens have really improved. 16th hole has changed a lot. For the better. Not championship caliber of course but good value for the money. Again greens have really improved.

Cart paths are the worst I’ve ever seen
The course is in terrible condition even considering the fact that it’s November. There is basically no fairway so you are penalized for hitting a good shot. Other spots had standing water even though it hasn’t rained recently. Oh, and the cart paths. Oh the cart paths… these are seriously the worst I’ve ever seen. You better pray you don’t have an open drink when you drive on them or you will be wearing your drink. I have a 2/5 because the guy in the clubhouse was extremely nice and accommodating.
Fall golf
I went to the course about 10 AM . That would give me enough time to hit a bucket of balls, and I was able to start my round just a bit early. It was crowded but there was a break in the tee times. I got through the first 5 or 6 holes, before it started to slow down, it was backed up the rest of the round. I would say the pace was slow, as you can tell by the rating on pace of play. Other than that I was very happy with my experience. The course has been reseeded though out, new drainage culverts have been installed. For a beautiful fall day, the course was in great shape. Keep up the great work being done by staff and management, thank you.
Great layout, top notch greens
HIdden gem. Inexpensive, lots of elevation changes and great layout. Not a typical back & forth muni. The greens are are as good as some high end courses, Overall a fun course to play.
