Sugar Creek Golf Course
About
Sugar Creek Golf Course offers some of the best scenery of any course in the St. Louis area. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the course's elevated tees. The course opened in 1990 with several improvements made in the following years. The layout is a manageable length at just under 6,100 yards. It is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence but there are also challenges in store for more advanced players. Water only comes into play on one hole but there are stands of trees lining the narrow fairways. The golf course will generously reward accuracy and good strategy though it is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to the course, Sugar Creek G.C. also boasts an expansive practice range with 35 hitting stations.

This course is beautiful
Fun course with fantastic views and load of hills. A few of the tee boxes were pretty beat up but other than that, was impressed with the overall conditions, especially the greens. Bonus points for meeting the owner Sorkis as he was cutting the grass on the 4th hole. Lots of respect for an owner that is willing to do the dirty work to keep their business well maintained.
The Return of Sugar Creek
I use to go to Sugar Creek 5/6 years ago and the course was in horrible shape. From the tee boxes, fairways, to the greens, horrible! I said I would never come back. My golf buddy booked a tee time Sunday for Sugar Creek off of Golf Now Hot Deals for 15.00 per at 9am. I didn't want to go. I'M SO GLAD I WENT! The course is under new ownership! It has had a complete makeover. The course looks fabulous! They have friendly Marshals at the start and along the course keeping pace of play fair (they even were helping find balls). Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in GREAT SHAPE! When we were done, one of the owners was out working, returning the carts.(I didn't know he was the owner)He was very appreciative that we chose his course and he asked us how was our round, and was it anything they could do to make our experience better? My only concern was that they need to repave the car paths but everything else was GREAT! I will definitely be back! Sugar Creek is now back in my rotation of courses that I will be frequently playing. GREAT JOB TO THE OWNERS, GROUNDS CREW, MARSHALS, FOR BRINGING SUGAR CREEK BACK!
Absolutely beautiful course
This course has some great views and a great game. The holes vary between very difficult, unique shots to pretty standard straight fairways with hills involved. I would love to play this course again and bring my family with me. The staff was super helpful and it was an extremely clean clubhouse and course. It’s a very quiet course with hardly any fairways that run next to each other (which I like).
Great coruse
For the price, location, and and overall looks and play, this course is top of the top. Met the owner right before we played and he said he had confidence we were gonna like this course, he was right. My group and I were very impressed by how well this course is kept up. They really rebuilt this course and made it something special. And price is very reasonable! Highly recommend and will be coming back for sure.
Great course!
Definitely an underestimated course! It was in good condition and offered challenging holes that were still very manageable for less experienced golfers. Have golfed many courses around here and this is a top 3 along with great staff! Highly recommend for any any level of golfer!
Tanner’s Review
Loved the course layout. Open and straight. Enjoyed the pace of play no matter the size of the group. Super friendly staff and very nice club house. Would certainly recommend for a first time golfer!
In great shape
This was the second time I have played this course. First time was a year or so ago and I must say that the course is in much better shape than it was the last time I played. Fairways are beautiful and greens are rolling well. It’s a little bit of an easier course so it makes for a fun day for those who are above average golfers. There are some really neat holes as well. It is definitely a bargain for the price as well as most courses around stl have gotten quite expensive.
Sugar Creek is BACK!
Anyone in the St. Louis area knows Sugar Creek fell on some hard times the past couple years. a grass fungus completely destroyed the greens, fairways were not maintained, and overall the course became unplayable.
Well, I am happy to report that Sugar Creek is BACK! The work the crew has done to this course is nothing short of amazing. They have literally brought this course back from the dead. The greens were a little slow, but some of the best greens I have played on this golf season. The fairways were nice, rough was fine. The only complaint was that the cart paths really need some work, but their EXTREMLY nice staff (who gave us free found balls) told us that is the net major project on their list.
If you used to play here but then just couldn't handle the "bad times", well those are over and this course is a definite play. Don't sleep on Sugar Creek!
Such a great course
Just played 18 holes and had a very good time. The staff is very friendly as well. I would definitely play here again!
The course is in great shape and the owner is awesome. One of the most generous guys I have ever met!! Thank you sugar creek!
Best course
Love the course and the people their. Great experience
Awesome layout. Great for gettin out with friends for cheap
Love the layout of this course. The greens are typically slower than most but roll true. Wont always have the best lie but it’s very short so a good tee shot makes this course easy to score on. I recommend this course for the amateur players gettin out with your buddies drink a beer and enjoy the views for a very low price. Not recommended for mid to low handicappers that are looking for something long and challenging
St. Louis Golf
Although this course isn’t very close to St. Louis, it has a great scenic view through all 18 holes. One hole you can see the St. Louis Arch in the skyline which is my favorite part about the course.
The overall layout is great to play on, you rarely have other groups playing next to you. A lot of up and down play makes for a challenging round. The course looks amazing in the summer time & is my favorite course near me (Ballwin)
Great Course Great People
Sugar Creek has always treated me and my friends well an awesome layout with a lot of elevation changes. Great scenery and the people in the club house are very knowledgeable and kind overall great course!
Very Underrated Course
First time playing, I was happily surprised. You can tell they’ve put in a good effort to update the course conditions. Still has its rough spots, but good overall. The layout is unique and fun. Super friendly staff.
Also, don’t let the “walking” fool you; they have carts for an additional $10 in the clubhouse (and you’ll need them because it’s hilly). Not sure why GolfNow only lists walking tee times.
What a great layout!
This is a hidden gem near St Louis Missouri. Great staff and always continuing course and clubhouse improvements.
Great Value
This is a great golf course for the price you pay. This was my first time playing this course and I was very impressed by the condition and the scenery of the golf course. Also it only has walking on this app however it is $10 more for cart if you would want one.
Sugar Creek = best course for it’s value
This course is absolutely beautiful in the hills of High Ridge, MO! With a great combination of large fairways and challenging elevation changes this course is a fun challenge for all skill levels, and for an incredible value of just $28! Even after it raining for 3 days, the greens were in great condition! Friendly staff awaits you on this hidden gem in St. Louis!
