Sugar Creek Golf Course
About
Sugar Creek Golf Course offers some of the best scenery of any course in the St. Louis area. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the course's elevated tees. The course opened in 1990 with several improvements made in the following years. The layout is a manageable length at just under 6,100 yards. It is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence but there are also challenges in store for more advanced players. Water only comes into play on one hole but there are stands of trees lining the narrow fairways. The golf course will generously reward accuracy and good strategy though it is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to the course, Sugar Creek G.C. also boasts an expansive practice range with 35 hitting stations.

Great course getting even better
This course is a far cry from what it was a few years ago. The first time I golfed there was 3 years ago...believe when it just went under new ownership and it was in rough shape. I’ve golfed this course 3-4 times a year since as it it very close and it gets better every time. The new owners have turned it around and continue to make it better.
The layout is awesome too. Several breathtaking view shots. If you’ve never been it’s worth the trip. If you’ve been before and it was crap, give it another go.
180
This course has done a complete 180 in three years. Greens are in great condition and this course is easily a hidden gem in STL. The layout is amazing and the staff is the best. Owner is a great guy and nick/Mike in the clubhouse are great guys
New Ownership
Showed up for a tee time i booked and I had the wrong day, and a tournament was being held that day so I couldn't change the time.. The new ownership was standing at check in and had them comp me a round on the house! Great people, fun course. They've put a lot of improvements into it.
Great course!
Have golfed here 2 times in the last week. Its a nice course and very fun to play. Greens for the most part are in excellent shape. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Talked to the owner of the course and he was very friendly.
One of my favorite courses to play for an affordable price. Great scenic views from around the course. Multiple tee boxes overlook the St. Louis arch.
A value course.
Conditions Have greatly improved over the last few years and are continuing to improve. The course has some strange and fun holes. Thankfully no water holes.
Good for the price
Course is fun and challenging. It was extremelly muddy and dificult to play. Regardless, I can apreciate the layout and how good it probably is when the sun is out, its dry and hot.
DEFINITELY coming back!
This course is awesome! Challenging yet fun, difficult yet rewarding. And absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The drive up to the Club House was spectacular. I love the different elevations and curvature of the course. And you CAN'T beat the price for what you get. Merry the owner in the course searching for improvements too! SUPER nice guy! Clearly cars about the course and the staff within it. The staff was polite, conversational and just all around present. I will DEFINITELY be going back asap. Probably going to host a tournament here too!
Decent course with some goofy holes
The course is pretty tight as far as bailout shots go. All holes have trouble on both sides of the fairway due to the fact that the course meanders through a neighborhood. We played on a day after it had rained quite a bit and the fairways were very tight due to the rain the day before and the fact that they did not have much grass on them or it had been mowed too tight. Either way it was very difficutl to get a club under the ball if you were in the fairway. The cart paths (if you can call them that) are in horrible shape to say the least. The course does have some nice risk reward holes but also some goofy holes with enormous elevation changes.or hidden culverts that did not show up on gps. One hole in particular had a 50 foot section of open ground between to very large drainiage pipes. There was no reason that area couldn't have been covered up other than cost. The biggest issue with that area is that it was in the fairway!. All in all the course was in average shape but they haven't done anything about the leaves so be ready to lose balls if you don't stay in the fairway or on the greens. Anything off line has a higher than usural chance of getting lost. Lost 3 balls that were less than 10 yards off the green. A few of the greens had issues but the majority of them were in good shape. Also, this a a very hilly course which large gaps between some of the holes so you better be in extremely great shape if you plan to try to walk it.
Love it
I play at Sugar Creek all the time. For the money sugar creek is hands down my favorite course to play, in better condition than anywhere else in the price range (<$40) fairways are always decent, friendliest staff of any public course i’ve played, greens are always in nice shape, always maintaining and improving the course. Not the longest course but it plays difficult with very few straight holes and some blind tee shots. overall i would recommend this course to anyone i know of any skill level i can’t say enough good things about sugar creek
Crest Corse for money
Would definitely recommend this course! Great condition have played summer time to fall this year. course has been very well maintained alone with greens being kept up very nicely! Always honor the hot deal rate when I call and book directly to avoid the convenient fee by the app. Very friendly and laid back staff. This course is great as each whole is something different, able to score with each hole providing its own challenge. Great course for the money exceeds expectations. Take the family or Buddies for a great day on a beautiful course!
Fun Layout and Great For Fall Golf
Always enjoy coming back to this course when I’m burned out on playing the cheap links style courses. Each hole is unique with a challenging layout that can leave you playing risk/reward type shots. Played here during the warm weather streak in the strong start of fall and it was evident that a lot of work had been put into keeping the fairways and greens clear of leaves, even though they were continually falling on us the entirety of the round. Owner greeted us on the course and asked about the conditions and our thought of the course. Very friendly gentleman and came off as very determined and caring about the place. Have played here about 5-6 times this year and always leave knowing that I will be back.
New Ownership, Better conditions!
Sugar Creek was in much better condition as a course than in the past, with better ground conditions as well as nice and chill pace of play! Scenery is beautiful right now in the fall.
