Sugar Creek Golf Course
About
Sugar Creek Golf Course offers some of the best scenery of any course in the St. Louis area. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the course's elevated tees. The course opened in 1990 with several improvements made in the following years. The layout is a manageable length at just under 6,100 yards. It is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence but there are also challenges in store for more advanced players. Water only comes into play on one hole but there are stands of trees lining the narrow fairways. The golf course will generously reward accuracy and good strategy though it is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to the course, Sugar Creek G.C. also boasts an expansive practice range with 35 hitting stations.

Definitely Worth Checking Out!
Sugar Creek is in the best shape I've seen for years! They continue making big improvements to the course, including recent smoothing, vertislicing and overseeding the greens, which all rolled beautifully & looked nearly perfect. It also looked like the practice green was being completely redone. (Now it would be great if golfers helped keep the greens nice by fixing their own ball marks! I played behind a foursome of "members" who didn't fix one ball mark all day.) I recommend Sugar Creek to people all the time because I really do think it's a fun and challenging golf course that you can play for a good price.
Sugar Creek...A sweet experience
First time playing the course and I cant wait to get back out there. I generally do not care for course that are in valleys, but from the scenery to the challenging layout of some of the holes....Sugar Creek offers some challenges and some rewards for finding the fairways. You can tell the new owner is putting some TLC into the course and I look forward to playing again.
Great course
Great course in the staff have done a great job of fixing up the greens .
Great staff and proud of ownership
I played alone since it was a day off for me and none of my buddies couldn't get off work today. Hot deal tee time through GN and played the first half myself and the back 9 with elderly gentleman.
One of the staff on the field was super nice and friendly. Found out he is the onwer of the course. Never seen any course owners working on the field himself and taking care things. That's a great proud of ownership.
Course is little short but lay outs are interesting. Had a great practice round. I will be back.
Coming along
I’ve played this course a few times over the past two years and it is steadily becoming better. Most the of the tee boxes were open and the greens were okay but much better than they were last summer. Fairways are actually really nice minus the bare patch or two. If they continue the work, this will turn out to be a nice course.
Great turn around
I played this course a couple years ago and it was in terrible shape. They have done a great job under the new ownership. There are still some things need work, but definitely worth playing here.
Much improved!
It had been a while since I had played this course because the previous ownership/management group had let it get into a state of Ill repair. But I believe in second chances, so I went back again today with my father in law and we had a great time. The pace of play was great, the staff was friendly and professional, and you can clearly tell that they are pouring a lot of time and effort into getting this place back into shape and it already shows. If you haven’t been back here in a while like me, give them another chance, the new ownership group has this place headed in the right direction.
Great course friendly staff!
This is a great course with a friendly staff and ownership. I will definitely be coming back.
Great course and friendly staff!!!!
This is the 2nd time playing this course and it was fantastic!!!! The course was in great shape and the staff are very friendly. I will definitely be back!
Great renovations and friendly staff
Great course for the money, offer challenges that make it a unique experience!
Great course
This course was extremely fun. Tons of fun and challenging holes on front and back 9. Front 9 has some awesome par 3’s. The course was in great shape and the greens looked good. Staff did a really amazing job after all this flooding to get the course back up to shape. The owner is a really nice guy. I can’t think of another course where the owner has stopped me on a hole to introduce himself and welcome us to the course. I will 100% be back!
Great course, great owner
This course was awesome. I played 18 and loved every minute of it. There are two par 3’s on the front 9 that go uphill and then back downhill that I particularly enjoyed. The course was in great shape and the greens looked great.
The owner was a really nice guy. I can honestly say I’ve never had a course owner stop on the hole I was on just to introduce himself and tell us a bit about the course. Thank you for that and for making us feel welcome, we will be back without a doubt!
The challenger
Hey so here is the run down. First I forgot my cap when I checked in. They happened to be doing a turn over end of the year merchandise. They had no hats left. The owner went out to his own truck and got me a new hat of his with the tag still on it. The kid at the desk was very professional. I ran the 18 holes and it was truly challenging. Lot of drop offs and crazy climb shots. So the whole part about your game is to avoid objects and get it down the line. Yeah the course has a few rough spots but if you are a spoil brat from Pebble Beach then you'll find anything wrong. The rates are very good and the course is for sure not boring. If you leave a post on this course and do a lot of crying then your probably a putz. So shake it off snowflake and play your game if you think you are really that good. Well I'm pretty sure this course will slap your candy and balloon out of your hands and leave you crying half way through. Dont worry, there is a pro shop for food and drinks. Thanks sugar creek for the humbling game. Cheers.
Its getting there
Course is playable for the money not bad at all greens are in good shape mostly
Great course for the money
The course is in good shape right now and it gets better each time I play there. It is really cheap to play and definitely worth the value. Staff is always very nice. Met the owner last time I was playing and he seemed genuinely interested in how my experience had been so far. If you haven’t been I highly suggest you check it out.
Very nice
Course is nice condition, greens 99% improvement in last year.
