About
Sugar Creek Golf Course offers some of the best scenery of any course in the St. Louis area. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the course's elevated tees. The course opened in 1990 with several improvements made in the following years. The layout is a manageable length at just under 6,100 yards. It is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence but there are also challenges in store for more advanced players. Water only comes into play on one hole but there are stands of trees lining the narrow fairways. The golf course will generously reward accuracy and good strategy though it is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to the course, Sugar Creek G.C. also boasts an expansive practice range with 35 hitting stations.

Absolutely Wonderful!!
We hosted an afternoon party in the clubhouse. Everything was absolutely perfect! The setting is gorgeous & the staff could not have been any nicer!
Definitely consider Sugar Creek for your event
Vastly Improved!
Played this course two years ago just as it went under new management. The commitment to improvement is clearly evident. In a couple more years this could be one of the hidden gems in the area. The layout reminds me of courses at the lake of the Ozarks though narrower and shorter. I don’t like the par 3 uphill hole - too gimmicky. Otherwise I found the holes mostly memorable which to me is a key to a nice layout.

Okay for the money
The bathrooms on the course were kinda gross, and lots of geese with their poop on the course. It is early in the season, but the ground was particularly wet and patchy. A lot of "ground under going work" signs around patchy spots.

What a difference
It's amazing what new ownership and some fantastic groundskeepers can do to turn a course around. I used to golf this course years ago and quit playing here because it was just in terrible shape. Now the fairways and greens are looking outstanding and should prove to be one of the best looking courses to play this summer.

First Class All The Way
Weather has finally gotten nice enough in the Midwest to get outside and play some golf so my brother and I decided to play a course we had never played before…Sugar Creek. We were beyond impressed to say the least. We have played all around the country and Sugar Creek is up there with the best of them. From the grounds to the friendly staff, Sugar Creek is a first class club all the way.

Great course for the price!
Fairways were hit and miss, but most of them were in really great shape. Greens were decent. There were a few pretty rough tee boxes, and the cart paths need work, but overall I was very pleased.

Nice improvements
Looks like theyre putting money into this course, summer should be in good condition. Just wish they were better organized, we were a twosome and 3 older people just pulled up in front of us while we were waiting, and said they had to start on the 6th hole because of frost, couldve let us go, no etiquette, on top of that they were slow. We skipped 1st hole and it was fine after that. Would be good to have a starter just so it doesnt get out of hand.

Much improvement
Course was in terrible shape a few years back, but they have obviously spent lots of money on it recently. The front nine's layout is odd, at best, but the back nine is championship level, especially 12 thru 18. Overall the course still needs some work as the turf isn't as full as it could be, getting a good lie on the fairway is rare. The greens have some dead spots, and the tee boxes need a ton of work. As hard as they seem to be working at this time, I'm sure these issues will be handled in the near future. The folks who work there are very nice and seem to love the job, lots of smiles. I'm looking forward to going back and enjoying the round at a much improved golf course!

Great value
Nice course and great value for the money. Some challenging holes with elevation and beautiful scenery. Nice people in the clubhouse and overall a great round of golf. I would recommend!

Great rehab
Wasn’t expecting much, haven’t played here since I was a kid in a booze league and it was an amusement park at best. Now it is a pristine golf course with a fun twist. Great course for any handicap

Improved
The course is still a bit choppy in the fairways, but the greens are in good shape.
I've been playing at Sugar Creek for a long time and took a break for serval years. It's improved over the time, and I think the owners are trying to make it a better course to play.

For December 14th, the course looked great! Had a blast getting together with some buddies for a round of golf. Sugar is always a good time! Definitely would recommend and will be going back!
