About
Sugar Creek Golf Course offers some of the best scenery of any course in the St. Louis area. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the course's elevated tees. The course opened in 1990 with several improvements made in the following years. The layout is a manageable length at just under 6,100 yards. It is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence but there are also challenges in store for more advanced players. Water only comes into play on one hole but there are stands of trees lining the narrow fairways. The golf course will generously reward accuracy and good strategy though it is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to the course, Sugar Creek G.C. also boasts an expansive practice range with 35 hitting stations.

Very fun course
I’ve played this course multiple times this summer and fall. Great course, really challenges you to be precise with every shot. Have seen multiple upgrades within the past year. Highly Recommend.

Tight course but fun
This course is not for the “hit and hope” style of golfer. Accuracy is rewarded and errant shots from the tee come at a price. My only complaint is with a couple of weird holes with extreme elevation changes and/or blind approaches. The designer did the best with the topography he had, but they play like “circus” holes. The playing experience would benefit by having a course planning book available.
Condition in early Sept 22 was good. Some work still being done to improve drainage, but not enough to disrupt play or interfere with how the course plays. Greens were running true and were in good condition, with very few exceptions. Tee boxes in great condition.
Staff, from check in to bar/restaurant, starter and marshals were all friendly and helpful.

Kudos to the Sugar Creek Owner/Staff
I was hesitant to re-visit Sugar Creek after not having played there in maybe 10-12 years. It was always, in the past, a rocky, not-in-the-best-shape layout. But for the money and from what I'd hear from others, I gave it another chance. My two friends and I were very pleased with the conditions and while the improvements are still ongoing, it's obvious that efforts are being made to make this unique layout a good one and well worth the reasonable rates that Sugar Creek charges. I will be back sooner than the last wait time!

Great course
I played here several years ago during a significant amount of flooding and there was damage to a lot of the course … after returning the course was in great condition … the staff was super friendly and helpful … had a great experience… will return for sure!

Good overall value, little confusing course, I guess next time I’ll get a course book, lots of blind hazards and not well seen yardage markers

Wonderful Course and Great Staff
Had the opportunity to play this course for the first time and it did not disappoint. It was a hot day over 90° and the fairways and greens were still in great condition. The sprinklers were being used occasionally and it didn’t effect pace of play at all. Some holes play short and some play long. One hole is only about 120 yards but the green is 300 feet uphill on a dead slope, one of the coolest holes I’ve ever played. All new driving range near the first tee box. Well maintained, good staff, good deal. Highly recommend

Great Shape
In years past the course had become unplayable from lack of maintenance, but this is no longer the case. The course is back to being in great shape and you can really tell they are putting money back into the course and it is a welcomed sight. They are also in the process of redoing the cart paths as well. Can’t wait to come back

Quality Course
Quality course for the money, and from what we heard from the group we played with, it sounds like they've made a lot of improvements on the course. Staff was very friendly, course was fun and in good shape considering the amount of rain we've gotten, would definitely come back.
