Hillcrest Golf & Country Club

The course was in great shape, however the weather wasn't cooperating (Windy). We could have used a Marshall there because the group behind us kept hitting in to us. We were waiting for the group in front to finish their hole.

I loved the fact that you get as many range balls as you want before you play, I also loved the in cart GPS. Course was well taken care of, I didn't spend a ton of time in theb ro shop, but everyone seemed nice enough. Can't wait to play again!

Played Saturday afternoon after a promotional event. Greens are the very best I've seen in years. Hard and fast. As soon as mother nature give up a bit more rain the course will be perfect. Fairways still in need of moisture. I truly like the changes I've seen over the last 5 years.

Course starts tough with long par 3 and continues thru rolling hills. Greens will put the putter on challenging trek...best part of experience.

Pace of play was slow during experience , annoying inexperienced golfers made play slow, however I look forward to playing again.

This course will challenge your game in every aspect. The facility is great and the staff is very friendly. Be ready for tough pin placements and fast greens. Also, be ready to hit a few punch shots as the course is lined with trees.

Good value for cheap afternoon tee times but not a place where I would pay a premium for AM weekend tee times. Staff is friendly and helpful and pace of play is always quick even if busy.

Fairways okay greens were terrible and customer service was worst I've seen at what use to be a nice course

A traditional turn of the century layout . Targeted shots are key. Suggestions on GPS SYSTEM very helpful. Lots of work and care being given to get the former country club Ross design back to championship form.

Really do not understand some of the bad reviews. I've played this course since it was in receivership and then purchased. It was at best, pasture golf. But in the last few years they have done an excellent job bringing back a Donald Ross gem. They have aerated the rough, the greens, unfortunately for us where recently sanded but still in very good shape. And all the tee boxes have been well maintained. The driving range is coming back as well. Kudo's to the new ownership and I hope the efforts continue. Give this course a chance and you might very well love it as I do. Uneven fairways, risk reward and beautiful vistas, this is a very challenging venue.

Traveled across the State to play this Donald Ross course. Really a shame the condition of the course, even worse the guy in the shop acted he was doing us a favor selling us a cold hot dog. What a waste, Mr Ross most likely would like his name removed.

Slow play, got stuck behind a fivesome which is not suppose to be allowed,found out later they were members, I guess my money isn't the same. No lush turf, carts driven anywhere they wanted to, no marshalls, slow play, Asked for are money back because it was slow and was told tough and go somewhere else if we didn't like it. We did, Swope was in excellent shape and played in 3 1/2 hours. .Alot cheaper also.

I didn't pay regular price so keep that in mind but I really enjoyed this course since i like courses that have character and good design. This is a "must golf" for any one in Kansas City Metro Area.

Staff didn't seem to care if you were welcome to play or not. Slow Play, no marshalls, very expensive to play beverages high won't return alot better course in better shape for alot less and friendlier atmosphere. wouldn't recommend.

Beautiful old style Donald Ross golf course. Some great holes with all four par 3's as good as any in KC area.

The course was in beautiful condition and had a great fun day.

5hr rounds on weekends say no fivesomes that's depends who you are.(members) not worth the money 60.00 WOW not playing alvamar.

Nice older course with tree lined fairways and well maintained. If not familiar with the layout it can be quite challenging.
I played on weekday and pace of play was very good. If you plan on walking this course better get in shape first, it is bumpy. Clubhouse and facilities very clean and kept up. It was a fun place to play.

The greens played quicker than they looked, the rough was a good length, and the fairways were in great condition as would be expected in may. The course played difficult even though many holes looked like they should be a breeze, but miss the fairway or sometimes just end up on the wrong side of the fairway and a tree limb can ruin your ideal approach shot. Fun course, great for the price!

Excellent layout. Conditions are not bad. Hopefully #18 green will be back in playable condition soon.
