Course has been neglected
This course was appalling.
From the first tee box to the 18th round thing at the end. Horrible.
Every tee box is trash. No footing to be had, no place to put the ball down. Not one was in average shape.
Fairways are just died up clumpy spots of clover with crabgrass patches.
No fringes on greens, just uncut grass.
Reficulousl waste oof money if you pay more than $5.00.
Even the beer cart girls avoided the course. Saw them a couple times, but they were in a hurry to get to the clubhouse.
This course is atrocious, seriously. Do not go here.
I am very lenient, but not with this garbage.
A full refund should be offered before you get a cart.
Not nice
The fairways were full of water, the tee box’s were barely cut an some were just dirt. The greens were ok
Tee boxes are dirt!
This place is mostly good for the value, if you get a reduced price. I would not pay full price. Most of the tee boxes are in terrible shape (old oaks), some even under construction but still being used. The fairways are nice, with occasional dead spots and more dirt. The greens are mostly in good shape, occasional brown spots but otherwise really smooth.
Jabdilla review
Course is in good condition except for the cart path
I had first tee time of the day which means the greens we’re not cut and were quite wet
Oh well
Getting Better
Tee boxes haven't been mowed in a few weeks. Stick the tee in the ground and it looks like the ball is sitting right on the grass. The staff is great and pace of play was finally very good. We played 18 holes in 3 hours!
Marsh Oaks is the premium course? NOPE!!!
The Marsh Oaks course is (was) the "premium" course at Oak Ridge? Well not anymore!!!
Tee boxes were either burnt-out & rock-hard or not cut & patchy.
Fairways had a lot of ground that should have been "under repair" but was really just wet / overgrown. Cart tracks all over the place (that's on the golfers though).
Greens were super long, slow and it appears nobody knows how to fix a pitch mark (again, mostly on the golfers).
....oh, and it was $8 for their "large" range bucket at the size of most courses very small bucket. Half the balls weren't even "hitable".
In all fairness, the bar staff was quite friendly & beverages were reasonably priced.
To sum up, it appears the course has been treated like a farm during the pandemic and needs a lot of TLC before I'll play there again....
Getting a little better
Better shape now than earlier in the season. However, the tee boxes and some of the fairways are about 2 weeks behind in being mowed.
Need to fix course
The course and paths need to be repaired. No in great condition and hasnt been in years, ill wait a few more before i go back
Backed up
I don’t know if it’s to close on tee time or what. Just waiting at the tee we had to wait 30 minutes after our tee time to just to tee off. Second time this month that this had happened.
Good course, not favorite.
I play there occasionally because the prices are usually good. It’s often wet and the greens can be sort of long, but it’s more than fine for the money. Play is often slow, and I’m not really sure if they just pack people in or the marsh is just more difficult.
Marsh Oaks
Course is in terrible shape. May be from the recent rains, but tee boxes were torn up, fairways had clumps of dried grass clippings. Greens were in decent shape. I’ve played the old oaks course, but never the marsh. Was not worth $40
Getting better
Finally, the course is getting back into good condition. You can really tell there has been some TLC.
It has taken a 180 degree turn for the better since the beginning of the season.
Got a mower?
I get it, it rained a lot Friday. How tall is the grass supposed to be on a tee box? 3 inches plus? Ridiculous! This used to be a nice course. The owners are not putting any money back into the place and it shows. Cart paths, parking lot, tee boxes and carts all terrible. For the right price you can overlook a few blemishes.
Slow play ranger just riding around took 3.5 hours to play 9 holes. I should of got a refund from the course
