Absolute robbery for the price.
No reason to pay $70 when you can’t get a flat tee box, or a 5.5-6 hour round. Most expensive course in macomb county. Skip it and hit the range.
Marsh Oak
I recently played Marsh Oak (8/2/25) after hearing that improvements had been made, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The $70 green fee is completely unjustified given the current condition of the course. The greens were burnt and patchy, with some areas having no grass at all. Tee boxes were poorly maintained, and the fairways were dry, weed-filled, and lacked basic upkeep. At best, this feels like a $40 course. Unless major improvements are made soon, I won’t be returning.
The go to hot deal
Easily the go to hot deal in our area for my group. Usually $30-32 tops for 18 and a cart. Course is kept up well, friendly staff all around. Only complaint at the oaks is when people are too slow and don't let you pass, but that's just golfing in general these days.
Great value playing
Well to start with, me and my buddy got to play 18 with a cart for just under $16 each. I am a member of GolfNow so I do get to waive some fees. GolfNow is a great value if you’re reading this purchase the plan. There are two courses in the same location. One is the old oaks which I played, and then there was Marshall Oaks,, the newer and more popular course, which we did not play. The old oaks is a well established course above 50 years, I found the tea boxes were not in great shape and most of the greens were very playable but could use a little bit of care. The overall layout of the course is exceptionally well done with just the right amount of traps, water, hazards, and hidden greens. The fairway on the rough for all 18 holes were in very good shape.. The sand traps actually had sand in them and they did have a beer girl driving the course which always adds to the enjoyment of the game. Overall, I give the course of 3.5 for the conditions and a four for playability. I was asked the question where would you rather be sitting at home or playing golf, old Oaks gives you a great value and plenty of challenges to say, get in the car let’s get going
not worth it
it has probably been months since anyone has raked a bunker. I only paid 35 bucks to play, but they normally charge 75 and I think I overpaid.
First Tee Packed
When I got to the first tee there were four groups already waiting, i went back to clubhouse and told them I was just going to hit balls at the range not even asking for my money back. I told them the first tee was really backed up, they ended up still charging me for a bucket of balls, which I thought was pretty crappy. I will not be going back. I
The "OLD Oaks" course is a little better
We played the Old Oaks not the Marsh. It was in a little better shape than the last time we played here. The cart paths and around the tees still need to be smoothed out. I'm not leaving my kidney belt home yet.
Home
I consider Oakridge my home course, the staff is always friendly, Matt always greets me on a first name basis I just feel very comfortable playing here. I recommend this course,
Very poor conditions
The golf course is in very poor condition. Many sand traps just dirt. Fairways has many weeds and is extremely hard. Greens are beat up and very slow with many greens with burn out spots.
The tee boxes are very uneven and basically weeds. I will never play here again or recommend this golf course. If you do go I wouldn’t pay more than $20. Owners should be very embarrassed
Need a kidney belt
The fairways and cart paths are so bumpy one needs to wear a kidney belt to protect ones internal organs.
