fun course
Course was in very good condition. very diverse layout and challenging pin placements.
nice course
Course is freindly with a number of tees. Plays fair for all levels.
Karma day
When we arrived there was no one at the cash register and when she came out of the bathroom let everyone know what she just did! She was rude to the first customer who wanted to play just 9.
We got out of there ASAP to the course, green markers where set to 1 but sign was set to 3. We got our karma back on the course and the cart girl was fabulous attitude. King 9 greens were like putting through the bunkers with so much sand.
Great course for a quick game or 9 holes if they let you.
The course is better than the facilities.
Everything is said in the headline. Prices (Deals) are Ok but never never 85 bucks worth.
Peter
Course generally good condition, with a little effort they could improve ( ball washers not filled with soapy water)
Tee boxes need seeding in some cases but for the money we paid very good value
Messy Greens
The greens were in poor condition. Many areas repaired with sand and dirt on greens. It looks like they may have had a problem with insects that hurt the greens.
Fairways were okay. Course is fairly challenging with water, sand traps and forced carries.
Staff was friendly. No starter. Senior group in front of us was driving all over the course, close to the greens, leaving ruts - they had a handicap flag and so do I; but I would never drive in areas they did. A course marshal is needed!
Windy but fast
Played with two couples and finished in 3.5 hours. Greens where good but traps need a little work. No rakes in any traps. It's a good test of golf with lost of water but for $50 would play there again.
Enjoyable fast round
The employees were a little stuffy but the course played well, despite the upgrades the greens could be more challenging. Bunkers were very compacted.. Played as a threesome, finished in 3.5 hrs
Bunkers?
Waster bunkers arent golf...Bunkers are crude and hardly and sand , wet and rocks. Nothing is consistent except below average at a higher price. .
Average and nice
Has potential to be very nice but that would require a lot of water to make it more lush. $140 for 2 players is way too much as is $5+ for a hot dog. It's not the ritz, no GPS and yardage markers are extremely difficult to find if ever.
Needs work
Fairways need a lots of improvement. Way over priced for the conditions of the course.
Over priced
The coarse went through a major green renovation 2 years ago and thou the greens still need to grow in the rest of the coarse is in bad shape. tee boxes and fairways have very little grass to be found. It is to bad they are choosing not to upkeep this track because it has a nice layout. The traps are a mud fest even during the dry season.
go somewhere else
abundance of brown and sandy spots in the fairway and on the greens. Gimmick holes on Queens course. Way, way overpriced. Barely deserves $40 for 18 & cart
The course could be great but!!!
Same old condition. They put money into new green and tees but they don't know how to manage them! Slowest greens in SW Flordia. Get a super who knows what he is doing. Good layout but the greens need help.
greens in decent shape
The course was in goid shape, greens were good with a couple of rough spots but overall good. Pace of play was good, no weekend pros in front of us.
Great Pace
We played Sunday morning & finished in just over 3 hours. The course is in fairly good shape. The greens have been redone & roll very true and much faster than the old greens. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Water hazards poorly marked from tee
This course needs some work. Looks tired & not kept up. Very Poor driving range conditions, sparse grass on fairways, no rakes in any of the bunkers. GPS in golf carts to include location of all hazards would have been very helpful.
overpriced
didn't have our reservation but did get us on. Put someone in front of us on the King course and slowed us down. Way expensive for the quality of the course. Greens in bad shape.
Gets worse every time!
I am from canada, visitor to Cape Coral yearly and golf a few times each year while in Cape Coral. I have played the royal tee each of the last 3 years. It wasn't very good a few years ago, and hasn't got any better. The only reason I went back this year is they claimed to be better now after some 2013 rebuild. For a $75 round, this course sucks. The shape was terrible. The odd green wasn't bad but most were very patchy. Some fairways lacked one spec of green on them. Sand traps, more like overgrown mud holes. Grass growing in some of them, others ankle deep with water. Along the sides of the fairways was overgrown and not well kept. All of this was made so much worse by the guy working the desk inside. He was such an arrogant young guy that I could not believe. Myself and the group that was ahead of me in line were astonished by him. He proceeded to stand outside while we waited to pay for our time. Then he had the nerve to say we are late, when in fact we were at the till paying with carts ready, 10 mins before our tee time. Best part is we get to the starter and he lets us pick which course we want to play because there is no one playing the junk course. And buddy chirps us for being late. The guy in front of me asked a question about one of the courses, as he wanted to play the one with the bridges at the back....young guy acts like he's from space and says he has no idea, don't know what you mean. I've played there like 3 times in 4 years and I knew what course the guy wanted and answered his question for him. I totally get that we pay a luxury to golf in florida as tourist in the winter, but a junk course and organization like this needs to remember that visitors and snowbirds are what keeps these places open. We should be treated well, after travelling far and spending much more than we would pay to play better courses at home. I wouldn't be surprised to see this course disappear one of the next few years I'm down, it would be the best thing for it.
inadvisable
The fairways was bad and the course maintenance was poor !
