I was disappointed in the condition of the course . Roughs were cut so bad that you couldn’t even locate your ball. Grass clippings all over in the rough looked like they hadn’t cut The grass in over a month and tried to cut it. Not sure I’ll go back.
Great Course
Looks like they are still recovering from tropic storm rain. On some holes where they haven’t been able to cut it was deep and soggy. Fairways and greens were great. Staff was great. A lot of water hazards but we are in Florida so to be expected! Will be back.
Grounds Crew Take the Summer Off?
I was very excited to play Cape Royal, but was pretty disappointed after the round.
The course was in bad shape, bare patches in the middle of the fairways, greens either like putting on concrete or the next a sand trap.
Pace of play was great to start, we zipped through the first six holes in 50 minutes or so, but then ran into the group in front of us and it took 1:30 to play the final three holes of the front with no marshall on the course to speed them up, or no courtesy from them to let us play through. We finished a par three before they were off the tee box on the next hole after 3-4 shots each off the tee.
Probably a decent course in season when it is being taken care of, but certainly not a $60 course in the off season when it isn't.
Good Price
Course doesn’t drain that well and we had a lot of soggy spots, but to be fair we also had rain the day of play.
Cape Royal
Super friendly staff. Food was good.
Driving range was a price. Course was in fine shape. A lot of straight holes. Long. No gps in cart. Overall…. 4.5
Great course for the money.
Played 2 days here while down on vacation.
Super friendly staff great value courses in good conditions.
The queen and king 9 were the most enjoyable of the three
Great experience
Only negative thing to say is not enough water stations on the course for 95 degree days
Lot’s of water
As many tracks in Florida there is plenty of water holes and it would be nice to have some warning flags or something to keep from losing golf balls and strokes unnecessarily. Coming from South Carolina that has checkered flags to warn people it is a bit disappointing. Average fun neighborhood style golf course.
Greens nice Fairways need attention
The greens were nice and rolled well. Some burnt spots in the fairways. Unfair to hit a drive in the middle of a fairway and have to hit off hard pan dirt. Not often but it did and can happen. I also wish that there were better makers on the tee boxes for the par 3’s not just the sign with the hole layout so that you can get a better and more accurate distance to the greens. The overall conditions were good. I will play again
Fun Course, Play it Often.
I like Cape Royal, the King, Queen, and Prince are fun to play. Course could use more hydration as their was little grass around the greens to chip. Was more off green putting..
Understand though when we haven't had a lot of rain and its been hot.
Overall a great fun golf course, staff is always friendly and helpful!
