Storms did a number apparently
Usually great course - today lots of puddles and down limbs, etc.. Sand traps not playable.
Love the pink tees
Course is in great condition. Must play it more than once to learn the layout. Lots of blind shots. So nice to play a course that gives senior women an advantage!
Great Value
This course is challenging and is in great shape
A Great Value
Good practice.
Good practice. The greens could be very fast on downhill putts and there was some golfer wear on them so they didn't always run true.
It was windy - which added to my poor play challenge.
Fun Track
This is a great course for seniors. I believe it’s a good course for everyone but we did not play from the tips. The layout is fantastic with a fun great mix of holes. The course is a value, the staff is friendly, the carts are super nice, and the greens roll true.
Treat your pals to a peaceful round of golf in the country.
We drive 45 minutes to play at Woods Fort. The course is challenging and nicely laid out. Brand new carts this year are a treat.
Rough start but great finish
On Jan 5th at 52° and sunny we had a teetime at 11:09AM. When we showed up 15 minutes early there was 12 carts in front of us on the first tee, We drove 90 mins to get here so we were just a little dismayed at the delay. They had a 30min frost delay. Starter was a very nice older man but overwhelmed until young asst pro in pro shop came out and started people in shotgun format off the back nine. Smart move! Worked out very well.
Overall the course is in very nice shape and the greens were in good shape. Clubhouse is awesome. Zoysia was dormant so cart path only also slowed down pace of play. Cart girl came out on Jan 5th!! How sweet is that??
Can’t wait to play this course in prime condition in the summer. Great value at less than $30 for 18 holes w/cart and they had 80 vehicles in the lot.
Woods Fort
This course is a great deal. The current ownership has done a great job at keeping the greens in great shape and tee boxes consistently good. If this course was closer to the city, the could charge 50% more.
Great layout. Very good condition.
We drive 45 miles to get to Woods Fort but really like its condition and overall value. We book on a third party website.
Great value
Enjoyable day. Scenic from 11 box. The blind fairway shots can be tricky!
One Problem
This was only my 3rd time at this very nice course. The course was in great shape, the staff was friendly, and the day was beautiful. There was one problem. I had the 3rd tee time of the day. A 4some teed off while I was loading up my cart and the only other person person before me was able to get out ahead of the 4some. Just wish I had been able to as well. They were on the 1st green when I teed off. I was walking off the green as the 4some was leaving the 2nd tee box. So I waited. Hit my tee shot and waited... and waited....heard the next group behind me drive up to the tee box and all of us waited.... and was finally able to hit after almost 10 minutes. .During this time a course marshal drove by and, while friendly enough to wave at everyone, did not think to address the 4somes lack of movement. They finally moved with a little purpose on the par 3 3rd hole as they were pulling away as I walked off the green. I was still on the 3rd teebox when the 3some behind me pulled up so I asked if I could join them as I figured with a foursome we wouldn't have to wait on every shot . Boy, was I wrong ! A course marshal drove by once more and one of our group complained rather loudly about the fact that we were pushing the group in front of us who had no one in front of them. The marshal did nothing about it. Why have Marshalls if they're not going to do anything about the pace of play? One of our group left in disgust after the 14th hole. What should have been a three to three and a half hour round took just over four and a half hours.
Out in The Country Gem
I heard positive comments regarding the course and it certainly lived up to it's reputation.
The course was dry in spots with no fault to the management. Just about every hole was a blind shot to the green, although the course is very well marked with fairway flags for direction.
For a course out in the country you can't beat this location.
