Great course will definitely play again unfortunately I'm behind on tee times
Great course greens are very challenging staff is great unfortunately we are about 25 minutes late going out but that's out of their control as there was frost on the course so not much you can do but wait till it thaws out overall great day challenging course very hard greens
Welcoming Staff Cool Layout Great Value
Early morning tee time so played 18 in 3 hours! Cool and challenging layout.. not the most immaculate grounds but great challenge for the 30$
Great value, fun course
This is my first year playing here. Never been disappointed. Always a great value.
Excellent condition
Course was laid out well in extremely good shape Fairways greens and tea boxes I would recommend this course to anybody cars backed up but probably from a new golfers
Minnesotians
Traveling for business in the St. Louis area and wow this course is a beauty. The greens were slightly dinged from ball divits but rolled super smooth and very true. One heck of a course, challenging yet fair. Would highly recommend this course to anyone. Definitely can't get this quality of play in Minnesota for that kind of price. Thinking of playing it again this week. Very pleased with this course.
Woods fort
This was 1 day removed from a severe storm that included 70 mph straightline winds that rolled through the area. All things considered, course was in fantastic shape!!!! Great work!!! One of my favorite courses to play in the area.
Good if like blind shots and wicked sloping greens
Numerous blind shots and layup style holes. Some of the shorter par 4 and par 5's (#4) have almost impossible sloping greens. The condition of the course was OK and the taller rough is not too bad IF you find your ball.
It's just hard to feel comfortable on tee shots when you don't really know where the green is...hit and hope!
They were repaving some cart paths so we were not able to play holes 15 thru 18. They made no mention of that when we paid.
Flag colors were odd as well...red for front, black for middle and yellow for back.
We *might* play again (for a bargain price) and it will be easier having played it before.
Woods Fort - I like it
Greens are tough with a lot of slope. Fairways, rough, tee boxes, greens all in really good condition. Cart paths need some work. Course is challenging with some interesting holes. Some ho-hum holes as well. I got a 'hot deal' off of golfnow. Well worth the $25 on a holiday.
Two issues:
1. Cart paths need work.
2. We had a 4some. Let 3 2somes play through. Thought course should have paired them up...especially on Memorial day.
Greens too severe; no approaches to greens
New ownership has put alot of money into this course, and that does show. Landscaping and rock work are very nice. However, there are too many severe greens which are almost unplayable. #4 is a prime example: the only fair pin placement is far back left; anything else is a goofy-golf joke. We played May 10 and the greens were already like rocks.
The biggest drawback is that there are no mowed approaches to the greens. You cannot run a ball onto these greens; just a few feet off the putting surfaces and you're in U.S. Open style rough. Come on, guys! Mow the approaches and create some collar-length areas around the greens. If you pay anything more than a hot deal price, you will leave feeling you paid too much.
Good course
This is a good little course. You can tell the maintenance staff are working hard improving certain areas of the course. Two groups let us (2-some) play thru, which seems like that curiosity doesn't happen at other courses anymore. I'll be back.
They must overbook
This was the 2nd time I played this course. It's a challenging and fun course but they must over book it regularly. The last time I played we finished and once back to the clubhouse our cart was grabbed from us asap because they didn't have enough of them and people had been waiting for over an hour past their tee time to play. Yesterday when I played we were forced to quit after 11 holes because the pace was so slow. Hit your ball, find it, then wait 5 or ten minutes on every hole. 4 hours to play 11 holes is no good.
