Woods Fort
The course was challenging but fun. Best part is how nice the bar / restaurant is.
Fun course
Everything seems to be in good shape everything is maintained for a true roll on greens for your money it’s hard to pass up I live close to it and to a outsider it feels like a hidden gem!
Great course
For the price, this course was excellent. Staff was helpful and friendly, carts are brand new with gps. Only negative thing to say was pace of play was a little slow with groups out in front. Everything else was great, will play again here.
Great course
Had a great time playing Woods Fort. Side note: probably the most comfortable good cart seat I have sat on.
Best Value in the State
I’ve played a ton of courses in Missouri. A ton. They all have their strong points, but they also have their weak points. Some are stunning to play, but the service or pace of play is terrible. This course, Woods Fort, breaks that standard and raises the bar for how a public course should be. The clubhouse is immaculate, the course is challenging yet extremely fair, and the people working are some of the nicest you’ll find. The price is well worth it. Great bargain.
As the day goes it gets backed up, once you tee off access to clubhouse only 2 times. No cart attendant, restaurant is currently under renovation, (typically very good food).
They are putting quite a bit of money into improvements over the last year, we will see what it all leads too. Only real complaint is it’s getting more crowded, though I believe that’s their intent. All about the Bens.
Greens
I feel it should be advertised that the greens have been aerated. You could not get a ball to bit on an approach shot nor could you keep a putt on line. It's like playing plinko . But the course itself is great. The layout is so nice.
Course rearranged
Good course. Holes had been moved around since the last time I had played there. My GPS did not sync up with the course.
Slow Play
Several fivesomes on the course lead to over a five hour round. No Marshall to help move the pace of play. I could never get a rhythm going this made the round miserable for me. I have never seen so many fivesomes on a golf course that did not let a twosome play through. I found a lot of golf balls in the meantime since I had time to look for them, but I felt sorry for the foursome behind me and the group behind them who did let me play through, but couldn't finish their round.
Friday Golf
The course appeared to be in very good condition with the leaves blown away. We were not allowed to play at our tee time, 9:51am.
There was a Frost condition and we were told there would be an 1 1/2 hour delay. I am requesting my prepaid money back from GolfNow.com.
Nice course, but......
FIrst time here and would have really enjoyed if if the tee sheet had been adhered to. When we got to the tee, on time there were 21, yes 21 carts there. Apparently the men's group took over and messed things up. We were sent to 10 and played that in a nice 2 hour pace. Good layout, good shape and the greens were lightning fast and rolling true.. When we returned to 1, we had to get in line behind four groups. Once we got going it was a logjam. At the par 5, there were four groups on the hole and 3 on the tee. I gave up, but Angie in the pro shop was great!.. I told here what was going on, she apologized and gave me a raincheck. I look forward to trying out this course again on a 'normal" day. She made a good situation out of a bad first time experience. Thank you!!
Golf Gem around
The course is in the best condition I’ve ever seen it. The new ownership has done wonders with the cart paths, fairways and the greens are challenging, in a good way even for the best players. The staff goes out of their way to help you at every level to make sure you have the best experience. Angie is one of the kindest, helpful and all around nicest persons there at the course. Thank you to all the Woods Fort Staff for doing all you do to make our golf experience one of the best parts of the day.
