Rattle Run Golf Course

Very friendly staff. Course has a Northern Michigan feel to it.

So I wanted to get a round in early on morning of my birthday. I checked out some hot deals in the area and saw one for rattle run. Reasonably priced about 40 miles away. The selling point was the 0804 tee time because of commitments later in the day. I got there an hour early to warm up. Nobody was there... ok I get it sunday morning. Looked around a little bit and saw a lot of lakes. At 0750 I call the phone number... got someone to answer telling me that someone will hopefully be there at 0800. I told him that I had a tee time at 0804 and that's interesting that someone would be coming in 4 minutes before the tee time. 0756 a gentleman pulled up and opened the pro shop. I told him that I had a 0804 tee time from golf now. Put me in the computer and asked me if I knew were hole number 11 was located. I said "no" first time here... he gave me directions and I asked why wasn't I starting at number 1. He asked if I saw the lake I said yes... he told me that's actually number one and that the only holes open were 9 and 11 - 18. The course ended up being a wreck. I get that we have had some rough weather however if you knew days prior that the course was in such bad shape why still put out tee times, especially on golf now. It was memorable birthday golf outing.... however not in a good way.

First time playing. Very good routing forcing you to hit most clubs in your bag. A couple short doglegs that are tough to judge distance, but the scorecard assists you in that.

Conditions were great for a late October round. Only negative were the tee boxes which were wet and muddy. It made finding a solid stance difficult sometimes. I talked to the pro after the round and he understood the frustration and said that is one of the main fixes in store for 2017 - great to hear.

Even though some of the tee boxes were not in good shape (standing in dirt/mud) this course is always enjoyable to play. I play here at least three to four times a season.

We had a very bhot day playing. However, the course was in great condition. I will recommend it to everyone, but you must be a relatively good golfer to enjoy it.

Great course...offers a variety of challenges...would recommend to all...

Lot's of investment and care being put into this course and facilities! Course was in great condition! Staff very friendly. Best food we've had at a course ever! The woman's tees really made it fun for couples play even for a senior citizen. Got to put it on your bucket list.

I'd like to lie because each time out there we haven't had to wait on any shot .

The greens are immaculate. Couldn't be better.

Fairways & traps are fine .

Great job by the grounds crew !!

And maybe golfers are actually fixing ball marks .

That or most are missing the greens . It is a tough track to score on.

Pops (75 yrs) a 15 usga handicap shot 93

My usga handicap is 7 , shot 81 (tips) very fair track accept # 6 tee shot has always confused me probably still thinking its a par 4

Should invest in new range balls ..no big deal

We always take St. Clair exit make a right down a ways and another right to the road the course is on but the road is closed from that direction.

Course has stood the test of time

GREAT GREENS, ELEVATION CHANGES THRU OUT THE COURSE, CHALLENGING AT TIMES AND LOTS OF BEAUTIFUL SCENERY HAD A WONDERFUL TIME!

The course is in much better shape now. Greens and fareways were in great shape.

The course was very good but only played 14 holes, it became extremely slow from the 7th hole.

This course is very long, and has one of the best looking back 9 layouts cut through an old growth woods.

Gorgeous fall colors. Great topography! Good conditioning for late October!! Must play for all golfers.

Course was in excellent condition, especially for the time of year.

Had stopped playing this course a few yrs ago due to the very poor conditions. That has all changed now after this latest round. Greens were in the best shape I have ever seen on this course. Rattle Run has always been a great layout and now the conditions match. Will definitely be coming back.

i used to golf here a lot more than 20 years ago and then stopped after the course conditions went down hill. The course is still not perfect, but the New Ownership have turned it around and have it going in the right direction. i look forward to the courses continued improvement and playing many more rounds there in the future.

The course offers elevation shots , hills ,tight fairways

Called and said I was running 10 minutes late and was told that I couldn't golf and to contact golf now for a refund. Tee time was at 7:16 didn't think it would be that big of a problem. I could see if they were booked up all day back to back, but it being a Tuesday morning can't seeing it be that way. Waste of money for sure. Don't see why I couldn't show up wait for the next tee time and if No one showed up go out and play my round that I already paid for. Doesn't make much sense.
