About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

Looks easier than it is
I’m a 16 handicap and getting from tee to green not to hard if you’re in the fairway. The rough is long and thick.The greens are fast and hard (I hit some great shots or I thought that ran off or bounced off by 9-10 yards. I played from white tees so around 6350 yards
The next down is 5600 and change something in between around 6000 would be great. But well kept and being the first out we were done in under 3 hours
Great find
We have been playing here for several years. Always in good shape, narrow fairways so expect to be playing from adjacent holes. Only drawback is lack of food/grill/bar but don’t let that stop you from playing here.
Just golf
This is a fun course to play. Always in good shape with real sand in the bunkers, not dirt or hardpan. Very friendly, helpful staff. Driving range and putting green. Only drawback is lack of food and no liquor license. Don’t let that stop you from playing here. Narrow fairways but not a lot of trees so you’re frequently playing from an adjacent fairway.
Straight up very good course
Staff great, very well kept course with challenging holes.
Good value
Course was in good shape. Greens were small but in nice condition. They used to have hot dogs at the turn but I guess that’s long gone. No drinking water anywhere on the course. Bring something
Easy Mr. Ranger
Overall the round was good. Conditions and everything else were good in relation to the physical game of golf. However, at around hole 13, a ranger approached us to remind us we were 5 minutes behind pace of play… The next closest group was 2 holes behind us, and we finished the round in 3.5 hours as a foursome.
Great condition
Course was on great condition as usual. Great pace of play. Worth it.
Hidden gem
As usual course was in pristine conditions, greens are perfect, fun course, what you see is what you get, nice variety of holes It would be nice if they could reinstate food service of some kind, miss the grill just off the 9th green My playing partners got a good delivery via Uber Eats, as a frequent player I bring my own food It also would be a nice touch to reinstate the loyalty card
